AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

Remember when I said with the prices going up and up. Keeping old PC and buying PS5 looks like better option month after month??

I'm already at that stage really. After 20 years building PC's I'm getting ridiculously close to throwing the towel in with them. Quite simply I cannot afford to keep doing what I did in the past, because the price increases at the level I used to buy at, have way outstripped my wage increases by several fold. There's only really RTS/Grand Strat type games that are keeping me on the PC platform now.

didnt know ms was making the ps5 :D

seriously though sony's ceo has stated the ps5 will be a niche product, so get set for niche pricing through the nose no doubt.
YE look at it this way Ps4 came out at 370 quid I know cause had one on rpeorder from OCUK so if PS5 is 550 thats like 80% jump in price.

Few days ago MS said it will be in 500-600 dollars range and that they scrapped cheaper version.
Remember Sony and MS just need 2 brake even on consoles as Software is where they get money from.

I guess it be same price in UK too not converting it into £ like it should be so it be £600 here also I bet.

Wish my Wages ware going up at this rate. Since comming to UK in 2005 to today I went up 150quid a month.... thank god i'q quit smoking and chemicals stay same price :D

with the claims ms made about 8k, 120fps (yes not together) etc i can see it nudging £700 personally. if its under £600 id be extremely surprised.

I'm not going to abandon the PC platform, but I am definitely going to rethink my upgrade plans if these board prices are anywhere near accurate.

If my current board doesn't get good performance from a 3700X and the X570 mid-range starts well over £200 I'll just stick with what I have and wait and see what the next Intel release does to the price-performance mix.

I was also planning on shriving off some of this system for my eldest's Xmas upgrade, but if I'm not replacing my CPU I may have to rethink that, too.

Oh well. I guess it's not like I needed to upgrade anyway...

Really anyone reading this would think x570 had the feel of earlier unfinished AMD platforms ...

In first iteration memory not working properly, memory compatibility terrible, vrms often of sub standard, paper feel of thin pcbs, not all ofcourse but many took bios revision after revision after revision or even hardware revision....

Now all X570 I tried run 4266 mems, some 4800 stable.. They are running 4x8 or 4x16 3600. Solid vrm. Premium look and feel, not like a sheet of A4.... No one is commenting on the new found quality for an AMD user...

They are commenting that they are expected to pay for this quality....

If this was an Intel X platform no way do people kick off so hard for obvious leaps forward in quality across the range.

3600 or 3600x plug and play in old boards even b450 works fine.

I dont expect to pay over DOUBLE for a new gen mobo so i can get "a bit faster RAM" lol.

But this isn't HEDT platform, it's MAINSTREAM i.e. the same as intels Z series, so stop comparing it to a naturally higher priced segment of the market!

All this X570 is doing is bringing HEDT prices into the mainstream where people like myself are far more price sensitive! What don't you understand about that?

Err the increased ram speed and compatibility is all down to the the Zen 2 architecture not the mobo. If you don't need faster storage what use is X570.

You know they said it cause Navi and hdmi 2.1 supports outputs like that right ??

While we may be seeing HEDT prices come to the mainstream we are also seeing HEDT performance as well.

I just dont get all this whining, there are cheep 570 boards, there are 470 ones as well.
There are more costly 570s for folk wanting that bit extra and then there are stupid priced boards for those who need to enhance there e-peen.
Its all about choice, if you dont want to buy an expensive board you still get silly good performance for the money.

This wouldnt be a whingefest if Nvidia or Intel were selling a product that cost £££s

I totally understand your point ofcourse. But the major selling point for AMD here is still cores for price... And the performance of those cores in multi tasking....
