Will 5800X and 5900X power consumption be the same?

I'm deciding between these along with a 3080/6800XT but my PSU is Corsair SF650 Platinum, hoping I don't run out of power and need a 750w.

That would be a huge "WTFFFF" moment if you started the build then realised that the moment you were about to put the cooler on. :D

Well I’m going NR200P when it comes in stock, I was just thinking I’d use the existing one in my existing case for now. Queue the lightbulb moment, AM4 didn’t exist when I bought it and I’m fairly sure it only came with intel hardware!

Mugan 5 now ordered.

I really want to order a 5900X but I am on B450 so stuck having to wait until January which is really annoying. I cannot be bothered to upgrade to an X570 just so I can get it a few months early.

Can't you sell the B450 and buy the x570 for not much more? Depends what CPU you have I suppose

Price/performance definitely looks poor compared to the Core i5 10400F and Ryzen 5 3600. It wouldn't surprise me if they are trying not to discount Zen2.

Same argument can be made for every Intel K Series chip which these are now on par with or better than (excluding the odd outlier on both sides). These are for gamers and they're charging gamer money for them, there's practically no improvement in multicore performance compared to Ryzen 3000. Surprised they don't come with "free" RGB sparklies :p

The freezer 34 doesn’t fit in the NR200P with its tempered glass side panel on. It will only fit with the solid side panel, we’re talking a mm making the difference between something fitting and not.

The Mugan 5 or Fuma 2 is the biggest that will go in. Even the. The fuma 2 doesn’t fit with all motherboards, it depends on socket placement.

If I end up sing the solid side panel, I’d put in a 240mm aio and call it done.

A Core i5 10600KF is £230,so even that overpriced six core is cheaper. I really hope AMD is not delaying the Ryzen 5 5600 non-X and Ryzen 7 5700X.

Oh, dear :(

CLEARANCE - CPU COOLER: 153mm (tempered glass side panel), 155mm (vented steel side panel)

Doesnt a 3080 by itself chew up 350 watts at max power draw? (more if overclocked i imagine)

Estimates;
cpu - 100
motherboard 125
memory 40
each hdd 20
fans ??

That's takes you 650 presuming you have 2 hdds and no fans. Not other components (soundcards etc.)

I personally have an 850 watt EVGA PSU which i've had for years. Bought to power 980Ti SLI initially

Yes but the 5600X is clearly faster is it not? I mean it basically matches the 10700k stock to stock and you have to take into account the Z490 boards costing more whereas the 5600x will run in any old AMD board with full access to all features and overclocking, even the A520's at under £100.

Is there some of this going on? :D :D :D :p

There is a bit of margin for error on the case, the Mugan is confirmed to fit, the artic is 2mm taller and doesn’t. I think the Mugan is meant to be 154.5, it’s tight put it that way!

You can get a U12S in under the vented panel which is 157 iirc.

The biggest officially supported coolers are 92mm e.g. U9S
