*** AMD "Zen 4" thread (inc AM5/APU discussion) ***

What would actually be useful, for both AMD and Intel, is something that allowed you to mount any cooler safely direct to die.
Yeah, something like a copper shim that was securely attached to CPU protecting the chips and spreading the heat
Although seriously, AMD has dropped the ball with AM5. Thickness of that IHS is just way too much

It was either that or lose AM4 cooler compatibility all together, i don't know whats better or worse, its subjective, but it remains to be seen if the thickness actually make much if any difference to temperatures, its just another one of those things where assumption has become fact.

I think - no matter how secure it would be, youd end up cracking the chip. For example the fans rotating would create small turbulences that probably would damage the cpu beyond repair. Or imagine...trying to move that thing, or accidentally hitting it while you walk by or something.

Whats the point? looks like a totally worthless product to me with no benefit other than keeping something you never see "clean" A very odd product indeed.
Probably for using LM? I never used normal thermal paste for the last 5+ years in CPU or GPU, so that cover would be great

AMD shill big mad now lol
Welcome to our resident fans of CPU vendor B.
Thanks I already knew

He is indeed gpu bottlenecked, but fun fact is he used different settings between the 7700x and the 12900k to pretend like 12900k does worse. Who he is trying to fool, i dont know. Why he is doing it, dont know either. But amd fans... what can you do
Well what is off the wall to me,the guys have no clue what I was testing and how I was testing and for who I was testing with my AMD shill fan money self buying multiple Intel products and posting them fake benches on the UK Forums.Because this guys says so

You can just look at the 12900k vs 12900k results to see he's running into a GPU bottleneck. Running Gear 2 with DDR4 and a frequency drop across the board yet the numbers are the same. You don't need to be hardcore into PC's to figure out that's not a good way to show scaling on the CPU/Mem side of things. I assume/hope in some content he produced he's trying to demonstrate what a GPU bottleneck looks like?

That's why I asked him to run the low preset with DLSS off so you're using repeatable setting with a defined preset and doing your best to reduce the bottleneck.
Then we get this guy with the never ending running lowest 1080p setting tweaking memory group on games because Intel losing ground .These people are tricking people are tricking people.I will not go on cause it is silly.I too know how to tweak memory for lowest setting 720p/1080p

Again did not really look at the screen shot or even read what I said ,I tested
the screenshot with a 12900K at 1080 in cyberpunk.FPS around the same at these settings
4900Mhz P-Core E-Cores 4000 DDR4 Gear1 CL15 4000Mhz vs 5400Mhz P-Cores E-Cores 3700 Gear2 DDR4 CL17 4000Mhz.

Something interesting and I only PC game at 4k but I was asked to do some 1080p testing AMD 7700x at 5550Mhz vs 5700Mhz but I did 5000 vs 5700 I already knew what the results would be.

AMD 7700X spanks my 12900K in this game.By a full 14FPS. Gotta be DDR4 12900K and DDR5 7700X at 1080 or just different game version maybe and I did not even dial in DDR5 ram yet but it still makes no difference as I play 4K games.
[/spoiler]
This is what I actually said it went straight to the Intel crazy broke brain non sense that did not even look at what I said, that I am pretending, tricking people, amd shill, faking benchmark,GPU bottle neck and testing wrong settings, liar, fishy settings, ballistic defensive, making things up ***fully star out swearing***, calling people out.I am sure I missed some of the offensive attacks but there strangers on the internet ,nothing.

My CONCLUSION nuts in the AM5 thread and Typical.I think I will go to Intel thread now and talk about AMD AM5

Anyway time for some fake Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice 4K HDR Ray Tracing AMD Ryzen 7700X 5700Mhz All Core Overclock

So the difference will even increase when you dial in your ddr5 on the 7700x. :D

Good to know, quality and accurate information right there. Guess im upgrading my 12900k to a 7700x

Not should, does have zero risk. Obviously liquid metal etc would need more care.
ive not applied thermal paste to a cpu for yeeears and ngl, i would be apprehensive about applying it to that shape cpu, knowing that thermal paste is likely to go where it shouldn't due to the shape/cut-outs - i read that liquid metal, or any other conducting thermal paste will give better performance than the non-conductive type... so i would consider that guard so i could use the best quality paste i could find, esp as cooling these cpu's seems not the easiest given the high temps.

Even if it did and was liquid metal we have ascertained that AMD thought about this and coated the surrounding components - I get what you are saying but still feel its a product that isn't really addressing a problem.

spread method Easy and use none conductive paste :)

Not according to the bench he posted. My 12900k is 35% faster on averages and 42% on lows compared to his 7700x. LOL

Ahh man - please not every single thread.... we get it 12900k is god tier everything else is junk :D 12900k is the best most efficient, most powerful cpu in the world /thread.
