*** AMD "Zen 4" thread (inc AM5/APU discussion) ***

Ahh man - please not every single thread.... we get it 12900k is god tier everything else is junk :D 12900k is the best most efficient, most powerful cpu in the world /thread.
Im not saying its faster than the 7700x. I don't know / havent tested. All im saying is, it definitely doesn't get 90 fps on cyberpunk. So the numbers he posted are just whack.

Do you or do you not care about factual results? Imagine someone with a 12900k believing his numbers and "upgrading" to a 7700x. I mean it's fine, I can fit in nicely midnlessly bashing intel with fake benchmarks as well, is that what you want? If that's what you want sure, ill post mine scoring 30 fps and proclaim the 7700x as the fastest gaming CPU. No problems

Even if it did and was liquid metal we have ascertained that AMD thought about this and coated the surrounding components - I get what you are saying but still feel its a product that isn't really addressing a problem.

so AMD/board manufacturers have said that people shouldn't be too worried if some of conductive material would get down to the socket? i haven't seen that mentioned, but yeah i think id use that shield or as someone just said above, sacrifice a small amount of thermal conductivity for peace of mind lol

Down to the socket? yea thats not what we are talking about here, we are talking about the SMD's in the little cut outs. Conductive material in the socket most likely = death.

I do but given your performance I can't possibly trust your numbers and you rubbished gamers nexus efficiency numbers with some site nobody has ever heard of so I believe we are at an impasse. At first it was fun to read and argue, now im just bored and would rather read about the new cool stuff without your 12900k being the star of every show.

No disrespect at all to you, but you know, it does get a bit boring.

You know what would be fun, running cyberpunk on only the cpu without a gpu at all and see which is faster rendering on just the cpu :) That would be fun! A scenario where my TR might actually do ok :D AMD please give me a new trx40 Threadripper :(

Like linus did with Crysis. it almost ran a playable frame rates, i'd like to see that again with later Threadrippers.

Nope, it's getting the heck out. Im getting a 13900k ;)
What's special to me is accurate benchmarks and comparisons.
Doesn't seem to resonate with you, does it?

That's great hopefully can notice the difference while actually playing games must be amazing considering how great you tell us the 12900k is to jump to 13900k and in and date us or twist it how good it is lol

The 12900k with 3090 at 1080p gets between 90-100fps in this video?

Nvm, just tested it, my 3090 is GPU bottlenecked at 1080p DLSS Q Ultra settings, so probably so is your card.

These are the results at max settings + DLLSS ultra performance, and it's still GPU bottlenecked!! Stock 12900k btw with XMP. So im really wondering, how the heck did you manage to score that low? Unless you changed settings between the runs, something is very fish

You realise you had a completely different DLSS setting too yeah? Put it on Quality and not Ultra Performance.

Im jumping to a 4090 as well, doesn't make the 3090 any worse than it was , right? I don't get what your point is.

That's not the build in bench and he is not using DLSS, his cpu is completely gpu bottlenecked...
Okay but the point of the bench is to get an average of the game performance. So he got 90-100fps and with that the bench someone else posted was in the 90s. You ran settings for better performance with Ultra Performance setting instead and then claimed significantly higher FPS, well yeah course?

YES. Exactly, thats my point. Do you know how benchmarks work? What i tried to show with DLSS on ultra performance is that the 3090 is the bottleneck, not the CPU. If the problem was the 12900k, then I would be getting 90 fps no matter if DLSS was on or off or in quality or whatever.
We don't even know what settings the guy was using cause he didn't want to share so....
