Genuine question, not because I'm going to preach why you should have got a different one but what attracted you to that board over all the others?
I normally buy Asus boards as I’ve got a lot of experience using them, and they’ve always been reliable. Plus theres always some Asus rep who posts beta bios on the oc.net and rog forums.

Ah ok fair enough. It's funny because 5 years ago I would have scoffed at the thought of spending £200 on a motherboard.
Now I am looking at 500 max and somehow thinking that's ok. That puts your one out of reach but some of the other motherboards very close and also the MSI carbon which I like because I like really black motherboards.

I'm not even going to pretend I probably need half the features but I just like knowing they're there.

Prices are daft, I spent £400 on the Dark Hero and that seemed a lot at the time.

Well know that the dust has settled on the 4xxx Nvidia cards I’m focusing my hype on the 7xxx3D! Just seen a rumour on another site that these will be revealed at CES in early Jan so not too long to wait now. Not looking forward to buying a new motherboard and DDR5 ram though as they both seem overpriced.

It looks like Kingston Fury Beast 5600 Mt/s modules use Samsung memory chips, in case anyone is curious. This is not really a problem, it only matters if you want to lower the CAS latencies.

It’s expensive but I can vouch for the Hero X670E very solid board.

I went for the extreme, ocuk have the best price but mainly wanted the 10gb Ethernet and EATX size.
Plus like my current board I’ll aim to keep it for ~5 years or more if possible. If AMD keep support for the socket.

@ScottiB any ETA for stock on the Asus X670E Extreme please?

This is only true for the C36 kits.
The C40 kits (Part Number: KF556C40BBK2-32) still use Hynix M-die.(I've had 2 in the last 2 weeks) Grab one while they are still around if you can, they all clock to 6400+ out of the box at CL32 after a bit of easy tuning. M-die is far superior to Samsungs efforts (so far) with their DDR5
It's only a few quid more for the CL40 6000 kits and they are guaranteed M-die, you cannot confuse that order.

I take it my 6000mhz C32 Kingston Fury‘s will be Hynix M-Die?

CPU-Z mem section will tell you what they are, I've never used that kit.
If you can't get that off CPU-Z, you'll have to run them through Thaiphoon Burner to confirm the Mem IC's.

They just say Hynix on CPUZ

You're good then, there is only M-die in circulation from SK Hynix in 6600 MTs and under.
A-die kits will mainstream at 6800+.
A few kits of A-die available now in 7200+

Doesn't really matter with AM5 anyway atm, you're hamstrung with IF topping out around 2133.
Tight timings at 6000 to bring latency down as low as you can is the way to go.

What timings should I be looking for? Currently 32,38,38,80 at stock volts
