*** AMD "Zen 4" thread (inc AM5/APU discussion) ***

Judging from what 8Pack was saying in the memory subforum I wouldn't worry about that at all.

Example:
This is very likely to be correct in most cases.

However... I'm still going to try to get better /equal memory latency than my DDR4 CL19 4000 kit.

Yepppp I know that pull. Just seen a DDR kit on HUKD 32GB 6000mhz CL40 for £150, the kit I got on my list is £225 for CL34. Bet you I don't get the CL40 though because my brain goes eeeew that's high CL. I hate myself.

Do you reallt need an expo kit? The Samsung 6000c36 can be tuned to 6000c30 and its kind of cheap. Im currently running it at 6000 c30 34 34 58 1t

Yeah, never heard of them but that doesn't mean anything lol.
Cheers, spotted these modules a while ago and forgot about them. I may buy them, but will wait until Raptor launch to see if anything changes.

Seems like they are probably using Samsung ICs at this point.

Yeah of course they do and the sun freezes over during the winter. When gaming my 7900x barely gets over 55c
Really? I watched a review of the 4090, and noticed the msi afterburner graph. My eye was caught by the CPU temps, I saw up to 85c, even in menus. I was like, what cooler is he using and his cpu is hitting 85c? So I checked, and lo and behond, he was using a 360 AIO. At that point I was confused, how the heck can a CPU be at 85c while gaming, even on menus of games? Then I realized, he was using a 7950x. I can link you the video if you want, it's from a popular youtube channel

I'm getting kind of confused, knowing what DDR5 to buy.

There's some DDR5 5600 modules with this model number:
KF556C36BBEK2-32

I basically would like some modules that can handle 6000 MT/s, at CAS latency 30.

I know these modules use Hynix ICs, the thing I'm confused about is, can all Hynix ICs handle CL30 or lower, when the voltage is increased?

Come on dude if your playing PC games or doing normal things Ram does not matter at all.
If your looking for shadow of the tomb raider scores with rtx 3090 at 1080p lowest setting, buy the best ram you can and then tweak it.It makes your e-peen bigger and makes your CPU magic sprinkles modes awesome.

The 6000c36 gskill (samsung dies) im currently running do 6000c30 34 34 58 1t.

Well my chip doesn’t get anywhere near that unless I’m benching

Got my 7700x last week and been doing some testing. At stock my cinebench score seem quite a bit lower than others I have seen, around 18.8k. The CPU is getting nowhere near the 95 limit, seems to top out at 85. This is my first AMD cpu, should I be worried about this :D, seems mad to worry about lower temps but it seems weird that it is not pushing the clocks higher given the temp overhead available.

Out of the Kingston FURY Beast 16GB 5600 and 6000 module kits, are both kits equally likely to work running at CAS Latency 30?

13900K needs 110W more power to match the same score of the 5950X in R23. holy inefficient CPU batman

Not according to...every other review. Only hwunboxed and techpowerup have wildly different numbers.

Computerbase has it scoring 39k at 253w. Guru 3d and club386 have it at 38k

Ah but now we're back to "power usage doesn't matter"...
13700k seems relatively sane but I'd like a DDR4 review...
