*** AMD "Zen 4" thread (inc AM5/APU discussion) ***

Yes I do on my 7950x. Didn't happen on my 5950x but everytime I launch either HWinfo or Corsair's iCue software then the system just about freezes up for a good 5-10 seconds

Fixed mine, now I can launch HWinfo with 0 delay or stuttering.

Disabled two things, don't have time to go back and find which did the trick:

Integrated Graphics
Thunderbolt (USB4) - it was probably this one, as @^JP^ mentioned this fixed this

This works thanks - disabled TB4 in the bios and now there is no freezing or lag while starting up HWinfo

that means it's the motherboard not the CPU, explains why I didn't have this on my previous x570 system, probably not all AM5 owners have it since TB4 is only available on some boards. I think what's happening is as HWinfo scans the system it gets stuck on something and lock the pc up until it gets passed what it's scanning. With TB4 turned off in the BIOS, HWinfo now starts up in 2 seconds instead of 10 for me

Maybe a bios fix will come around to that resolves it but since I don't have any 40GB/s type C devices, so turning off TB4 doesn't bother me

I posted my previous post before reading this, but confirm it worked for me too.

Hopefully a driver update for the USB4 controller fixes it at some point. I do have a USB4 (40gbps) nvme external enclosure, just for when I need to transfer large files very quickly, so would be nice for them to fix it at some point.

Agree not an AMD issue though!

-25 is not bad, my best cores, 2 of them are -26.

How long would you say it took you to test/configure the negative offset for each core?

I'm using a 7600 temporarily until X3D launches, so I won't bother for just a few weeks use. I've just set PBO on, and increased boost clock by 200Mhz (5350Mhz all core) (seems to be the max for PBO). May try manual OC later on, assume I can do + 300 or more then.

what DDR speed can you run yours at ?
my 6000 RAM can run at 5200 max, anymore and games crash

My r5 7600 does 6000Mhz (CAS 30-36-36-76) from it's EXPO profile with no issues, on ROG Crosshair Hero x670E

hmm, maybe not
I've got :

(CMK32GX5M2D6000Z36)

Strange that's not on the QVL list, must be for a reason. You *should* be able to get it to work by tinkering with the voltages, secondary and tertiary timings. That said I'd return it and get a QVL listed kit instead, if you're still within your no cost exchange window.

that's what i will do now
within 14 days :)

Cheers mates

Before you send it back go into the “DRAM Timing Control” menu in the bios.
Select “Memory Presets”
Load Hynix 6200MHz 1.4V 2x16GB (assuming they are Hynix chips, can confirm on CPU-Z SPD page).
Now go back two pages and change Memory Frequency from 6200 to 6000.

See if it boots and passes stability tests now.

If not reset it and set the memory back!

I'd give it a go, just pick the Samsung 6200Mhz profile and then go back and only change the frequency to 6000, leaving the timings and voltages from the profile.

If it doesn't work just change it back to EXPO or XMP.
