*** AMD "Zen 4" thread (inc AM5/APU discussion) ***

That is too much, its also down to the weak pound / strong US dollar, its $299, without knowing the price of the 13600K i already feel like it needs to be $250, $270 would be pushing it but still begrudgingly ok.

Its actually better than i thought it would be, according to the HUB review it actually does quite well against the 12600K in productivity, and its a very good gaming CPU, but its not quite $299.
Very surprised how well it did against the 10 core 12600k

Rumour is £349 for 13600KF and £389 for the 13600K that I had seen. All mental well overpriced.

I think you dont understand how percentages work. TPUP has the 3600 at 72% and the 7600x at 100. That's not 35% faster, lol.

78.6% vs 100%.

I didn't bother with the maths and i thought i would over estimate so you didn't come back at me with idiotic circular math reasoning.

But you did anyway so i will do the maths.

100 / 78.6 = 1.272 (+27.2%)

Can we stop this, please? i don't want my list of people to ignore to grow too long and i like the banter we sometimes have between us....

Not sure if anyone noticed but the 7900x and 7700x, plus motherboards actually went up for sale (in stock with prices) on OCUK for about 15mins earlier on today, then it all got pulled. Jumped the gun probably :-)

Some interesting thoughts about infinity fabric and ddr5 on Zen 4 from Techspot:
"As for what type of DDR5 memory you should pair with Zen 4, it's difficult to say. AMD claims DDR5-6000 is the sweet spot, but we saw good gains of up to 7% using DDR5-6400 on the 7600X. Stability wasn't an issue with a Fabric frequency of 2133 MHz, so we'll have to see if that's the case for most CPUs."

Saw that as well, guess they go up tomorrow officially. Saw that no 7950X was listed, hopefully that was just part of the error.

Looks like they’ve engineered it to run at 95c. Essentially, pump power and frequency until it reaches that temperature. That’s just how they’ve designed it. Although you can run them in Eco mode.

Indeed.
I'm sure this is going to have a lot of people up in arms about it to begin with before they realise it.

95c is NOW Normal? 105c was always normal when it comes to Nvidia's memory IC's or Intel's CPU's, why is that only NOW worth making a thing of?

Why don't you check 720p numbers, lol. TPUP runs games at ultra settings, so 1080p might get GPU bottlenecked. Techspot runs games frequently at medium settings so not as much GPU bound.
