AMD Zen 5 rumours

I’ve got the same motherboard and CPU as yourself @RSR - It would be great to see what BIOS settings you and @LtMatt have ended up with.

I’m fairly new to tuning these modern AMD CPU’s and have had no issue gaining an extra 4000+ on Cinebench over stock, with a very basic curve offset, but I would love to see what areas I might have overlooked in my efforts so far.

Bit of a crap shoot, just swapped out a 5800x for a 5700x3d, using a 7900xtx, everything seems to run sweet as, however also swapping to a 9800x3d as FOMO is a powerful force :)

Fair play bud, I watched some reviews of the 5800x vs 5800x3d, the later was considerably quicker in most games, hoping the 9800x3d will be leaps ahead.
 
Just found out that Ryzen can’t make use of the CUDIMMs clock driver “yet” I wonder if this will be something they can add with a bios update or will it require new CPUs?

Guessing it is a bios thing as MSI have confirmed CUDIMM support for all 8000 and 9000 AMD CPUs although maybe not at crazy speeds to start with

Voltages change from memory kit to memory kit but in this case these where running:

DRAM VDD Voltage [1.68000]

I can pull a bit more voltage out of these but I was testing to see how the heat affects them.

Guessing it is a bios thing as MSI have confirmed CUDIMM support for all 8000 and 9000 AMD CPUs although maybe not at crazy speeds to start with

It seems that 'support' just means running them in bypass mode (like Z790), which kinda defeats the purpose of them!
Yeah no point in paying the inevitable premiums for CUDIMM on AMD at least for now, it would be interesting to know if full support comes from the board or CPU, my guess is the later so it maybe something that’s implemented for Zen6 if they get a new memory controller.

My 9950X is a SP118 CPU so settings may need to be tweaked.

Memory Settings / Testing - 8000C32

RAM Kit: F5-8000J3848H16GX2-TR5NS

Voltages change from memory kit to memory kit but in this case these where running:

High DRAM Voltage Mode [Enabled]
DRAM VDD Voltage [1.68000]
DRAM VDDQ Voltage [1.64000]

I can pull a bit more voltage out of these but I was testing to see how the heat affects them.

I am still messing around with Curve Shaper at the moment, so I have nothing set in stone on that.
