High end GPU launches are really exciting. 3090 was immense on release, 4090 even more so. It's just unfortunate that they're 2 years between launches, due to no effective competition.

I think that the high end gpu launches have suffered somewhat due to the price almost doubling for the last 2 launches for the flagship cards

Are these chips going to be a decent upgrade over the 7800x3d for gaming at 1440p. I bet not as it's still going to be better to upgrade the GPU.

Depends if the +40% IPC turns out to be true I'd guess. I would think over a 7800X3D/7950X3D probably not, but over anything previous generation, possibly yes.

Resolution has tapped out and FPS quickly becomes worthless after a point. GPU power draw is just silly. The size of GPU’s is now loltastic. Prices are outrageous.

I’m sorry but there is plenty to compete over between the three manufacturers.

I wonder how much of a real world difference we will get with say something like a 4090 compared to what is already very impressive/usable for ages, with say a 5800X3D/7800X3D...
