Not bad, but I await to see how they actually perform before getting excited about this.

God bless the Spaniard for this. Big risk with its NDA
Made my day seeing this. Been so long since an AMD core has been in any rig I've had ;(

Be interesting to see a pole on here of what core count would interest people more. 6/12 for me :)

I thought all AMD CPUs were unlocked black version or not ???

All Ryzen are unlocked.

And if true the pricing, want to put pre-order for retail 1800X NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

My 6700K going to be handed over to my brother. It will be worthless on the second hand market.....

Looks like Ryzen is made by Samsung - AFAIK GF has no 14MM fab in the US,but Samsung does.

Edit!!

Might be wrong about that - forgot that GF had a fab there too.

Hmm that Chip

Z= QS
D= Desktop
340 = 3.4ghz Base Frequency
6 = Model Revision number
BA = 95w
M = AM4
8 = 8 Physical Cores
8 = 4MB L2 Cache + 16MB L3 Cache
F4 = B Stepping

The blacked out bits i assume are the Boost Frequency and Base Frequency

why will it be worthless ? :confused:

you not seen any benchmarks.just because something 8 core doesnt mean its even quicker than your cpu overall.you only have to look at the older amd cpus to see that.anyone selling stuff now is daft.

Wait 3 weeks ;)

Cannot write a whole essay atm about IPC, cores, comparison etc.
Especially when is been beaten to death over the 180 pages of this thread, and numerous other threads.

I will hold to two points.

a) Ryzen IPC with SENSE OFF looks in par with the Broadwel-E IPC. So with SENSE ON who knows.....

b) Double the amount of cores on a similarly few % deficit IPC is still double the amount of cores. We aren't talking about Bulldozer IPC here compared to Haswell or SB/IB.
And if overclocks well, which AMD is closing the eye on that, then we are looking for a great product. Hell if it overclocks above 4.4 going to be fantastic. Which is the Intel limit for their Broadwel-E CPUs before they start melting.

First raw data will be released directly by AMD on launch day themselves. Notbsure how quick hardware sites and vendors will be able to release their own version on events.
Shames, amd could have laid a good foundation to the hype but leaving right to launch date.

So far looking at boards, MSI titanium is matching its Intel counterparty, lot of others backed down, Gigabyte, Asus etc, wonder how quickly a Gaming 7, Apex will be launched if AMD has produced an Intel spanker.

4ghz base clocks at launch for the top version... I wonder if just like the 8320 we are going to see a lot of very lucky people with half decent coolers manage to achieve a 4ghz+ overclock on the lower priced parts.

*Cough* Overclockers Dream *Cough* - Sorry just kidding, but I am definitely on the hype train now. We have watched this go from a 3ghz to a 4ghz chip since December and we still don't know what it boosts to. If it really does deliver on IPC as we think it might this is one seriously impressive development by AMD.
