Yup, people were saying it when I bought my Q6600 back in the day...

I'm intrigued to see how these perform and could possibly be tempted, depending on performance although most of my work photography stuff is more run on the GPU nowadays.
 
If the whole point is overclocking and its strength is being uncapped then surely the stock cooler good for stock and maybe 10 or 20% more, goes on the shelf pretty soon after

The fact that AMD are not only making every chip overclocking inclusive but also including a stock cooler just shows their company ethos compared with Intel.
 
I'm not sure that wraith spire picture is legit. doesn't look like it fits the motherboard. Looks more like someone photo shopped an intel cooler, pretty sure the earlier image we saw of it was just made by a guy on the hardware battle forum
