its new and shiny so no justification needed :D
Ah now! That's not enough of a reason sadly. I'd have to go through the hassle of selling my 5820K, Asus X99 Deluxe and 32GB of 2400Mhz Dominators ( bloody ram cost more than mobo and cpu combined ).

Still tempted though; could even sell some AMD shares to do it haha. Honestly I'd be better off simply picking up a second hand 5960X or 6900K when they drop in value.

So that's compared to 6800k which is 6 core / 12 thread, 3.4Ghz boosts to 3.8Ghz? Looks like it holds itself well against it, 25ish percent boost in some MT scenarios which you'd expect given the extra 2 cores. Potentially looking quite good, can't read what a lot of those things are though, my Chinese is non-existent :D

Well that is certainly interesting. I have no idea what half the games etc are listed but it appears at least against a stock 6800k then things are on par for Ryzen.

It still points to where the 7700k is currently faster & slower accordingly then it will be. With that I don't see any reason to avoid Ryzen for gaming as things move more towards multi core/threads.

1700X / 6800K
Platform Power Draw (CPU Full Load) The lower the better.
123w / 126.87w
Platform Power Draw (System Standby) The lower the better.
62.77w / 98.74w
Platform Power Draw (Gaming) The lower the better.
154.66w / 194.2w
Platform Power Draw (Office Work) The lower the better.
81.55w / 113.5w

Assume that's a translation of some of the chinese leak? The image has disappeared again...

Looks like full load they are pretty close, but the Ryzen is more power efficient in lighter loads and idle. But there are a lot of caveats about how those were performed, assuming it's even a legit leak.

Pretty close! In gaming there is a 40w difference. :o
