*** AMD "Zen" thread (inc AM4/APU discussion) ***

Dear God guys, give it a rest... You disagree, move on. Nobody wins Internet arguments...

Besides, I'm waiting for someone to post 'just ordered XYZ board' so I know to go look and may miss it for all the bickering :D

I agree, the moderators should be doing more to stop the trolling, it's obvious who is doing it.

If you're not interested in what Ryzen offers, leave the thread alone, pretty simple.

Sent a webnote to OcUK to change to shipping to Saturday delivery, the Asrock Taichi are hopefully coming in today. Otherwise will have to change it back to regular delivery and back to my office address.

I have become overwhelmingly impatient for this pre-order :D

Really?! Hmm. Maybe I should hedge my bets and get a Taichi pre-order too. The only thing that sucks is OCUK take payment right away.

Hate to burst that bubble but there not coming in today :P. Should be here on the 15th

I said the test was flawed not the numbers, ok I get the love you have for AMD.

What you are nuts? You said it was flawed in your first comment and since it is all about the numbers then how can it not be about that.

I have no issues with running AMD or Intel as I run an i7 4790K and was on previous Intel CPU's prior.

It is nothing to do with love for AMD, Just don't believe the relevance to what is being shown in the chart makes any difference to the principle because I don't believe that the majority overclock their CPU and although I only have a small sample myself to compare I can extrapolate some clear data points to suggest that.

Elaborate what? That this is a overclockers forum so most people will overclock on here. I would say that's fairly representative of gamers who oc.

Your missing the key fact that not all gamers are on here? In fact that same 20 friends who game are not on here and so do they not count as gamers because they are not on a forum?

I read the info, have the discussions, pass on the info and they ask back and I can come here and get the info. They have no interest in anything outside of gaming when they have free time.

Even the two that do OC their gear are not on here so what does that say?

You sure? :( Whose your source? :) The waiting is killing me now, I need to tinker

I have one pre ordered too. I know a certain uk site is suggesting its coming today but another few are saying the 15th. That site also had it down for coming on the 6th and 8th. They legit have no idea.

I refer you to my previous post, I said the test was flawed, please show me where I posted the numbers where flawed. Except just about all other benches have shown all cpu's oc whether its by 100mhz or more.

I think I've been looking at the same sites ;) I'm not sure if anyone knows when they'll drop! I'm just living in hope, the guy at OcUK said:

We haven't had a guarantee but are expecting them any time soon

I can but hope they come in today, because then I can spend all weekend on it, if it comes during the week I'll be rushing to get it up and running in the few hours I have spare in the evening.

Not really too bothered about paying loads of money for a board with stuff I'll never use, so...MSI Tomahawk or Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming 3?

Or perhaps neither? :)

I am struggling to see a reason if you are looking at any B350 board to get more than an MATX board because the features are the same it is smaller and you can still go SLI/Xfire so unless you want 3 GPUs why pay the extra?

MSI B350M Gaming Pro & MSI Mortar or Gigabyte GA-AB350M-Gaming all seem like top boards to go for and all for £80-£90 with the extra £10 giving you the two slots for SLI/Xfire.

Edit: The Mortar would be my first choice based on spec, bios, design & price with the Gigabyte-AB350M and then the MSI B350M Gaming Pro after.

Maybe people like the visual appearance of a larger board in their case.

I saw a slide at some point that showed only the 370 board did SLI\Crossfire...is that wrong or did I go mad and not see it?

Asus may have always been the best for Intel boards but IMO Gigabyte have always had the edge on AMD.

During the AM3+ times Gigabyte had lots of issues - their motherboards had loads of throttling issues and Asus had things like LLC. For instance my mates with Asus 970 motherboards had a much better experience than mates with Gigabyte ones at the time.
