You win the Internet!
On a more serious note though after my experience with Asus CH6 and my backup prime plus board I think erring on the side of caution with Asus is a good idea.
Any chance you have any actual facts/sources to back up that sweeping generalisation that most/majority (I think that's what you meant) of gamers overclock?

1700@4000Mhz getting spanked of a 6700@4000Mhz, under 60 FPS in some areas on ryzen this with a 1070, i would not be pairing it up with a 1080ti.
But wouldn't AMD be conservative when it comes to voltage, meaning not taking into account a decent custom cooled rig, higher end fans and what not ? Especially at launch. Because Gibbo didn't seem to woried by his 1700 at 1.55 when he was first going at it, or is it more that after 1.45 it is unstable, or are they saying it in the way that 1.55v would reduce life span ? Because imo a "do not do" is different from "it will reduce the lifespan".
I'm not interested in stock as I doubt the multitude of gamers are. Its flawed, you cannot oc one cpu in a test and leave the other stock. Does it get any extra out of the 1800X even if it is only 100mhz?

Yeah sorry but I don't agree at all with this. Out of the 20 or so people I game with online I know that 2 of them manually overclock their PC's the rest leave them stock. They just want to buy what works for gaming and play.
It isn't flawed, people keep telling you to ignore the OC of the 1800X and just compare stock to stock and the 1800X still has excellent results.
Of course it's flawed, he could have oc the 7700K and put the results up and if people wanted to take just stock they could have, instead he choose not to.
And? Again all this proves is some software isn't well optimised yet. It's clear to see that the 1700 is barely breaking a sweat.
Fallout 4 one of the oldest engines around, based on the Fallout 3 engine which in turn was based on the Oblivion engine which was released 11 years ago.
Bethesda have partnered with AMD this will improve. Here we go, it will get better with software said that about faildozer, here and now is what counts.

Elaborate what? That this is a overclockers forum so most people will overclock on here. I would say that's fairly representative of gamers who oc.
Besides, I'm waiting for someone to post 'just ordered XYZ board' so I know to go look and may miss it for all the bickering
