Well that 1500 is overpriced too so yeah I'll take the faster 1030 with HDMI 2 support and that £100 i3 coffee quad core along with the cheaper coffee lake boards hitting soon.
ASRock is ready for Ryzen 2000. The company has provided BIOS updates for almost full AM4 motherboard lineup. The latest BIOSes support new AGESA code for upcoming Zen+ processors.
Those who decide to purchase Ryzen 2000 CPU and any of already existing ASRock’s Ryzen motherboards will need to go through a more complicated process, which requires not one BIOS update, but two.
Only X370 Taichi and Fatal1ty X370 Professional Gaming have not received Ryzen 2000-supporting BIOSes yet. Those are scheduled for February 9th. After that date, all ASRock’s AM4 motherboards will support Ryzen 2000.
The Bridge BIOS is required to make a smooth transition to Ryzen 2000, that’s only if you happen to buy a 300-series motherboard for your new processor.
So £150 for the 2400g for less than £60 gt 1030 performance. They don't even support HDMI 2 4k 60hz, so Htpc duties are limited. Too expensive.
£100 for an overclockable 4C 8T CPU is overpriced but £100 for a locked 3.6Ghz 4 Core 4 Thread CPU is not?
Having just come from a 4 core 4 thread 4.5Ghz Intel CPU i can tell you its a very very bad choice as a CPU for anything, including gaming, the Ryzen 1500 is much better.
Edit, actually looking at it i agree with Raven.
The Ryzen 1500 at £150 is too much money, way too much, i had no idea it was basically the same price as the 1600, that's a very strange pricing structure there AMD, current Ryzen 3's shouldn't exist, the 1400 and 1500X should be the £100 Ryzen 3's, its because you have an over bloated range that you have ended up with 4 SKU's all within a tenner of eachother.
You just wouldn't buy the 4 core 1400 or the 1500X with the 6 core 1600 at as near as makes no difference the same price.
The 1400 and 1500X are idiotic at this price point, they should be i3 competitors.
There is a reason for this. Remember that it is the same Ryzen dies used for the entire range. They can't sell the full Ryzen die at the i3 prices.
Well that 1500 is overpriced too so yeah I'll take the faster 1030 with HDMI 2 support and that £100 i3 coffee quad core along with the cheaper coffee lake boards hitting soon.
Intel postpones product launches
Internally, the problems of recent weeks at Intel have already caused the shifts of new products. New CPUs and motherboards now without the right patches to publish, would probably only pour oil into the fire, so the upcoming launches are once exposed. Of these, in addition to the new NUCs with Gemini Lake and Kaby Lake-G probably also affected Coffee Lake , whose second wave of CPUs and motherboards is already in the starting blocks. For CES 2018 , these were already behind closed doors to see whether the known date of late Q1 or April can be held, but now remains questionable.
You keep saying "cheaper mobo's soon". There's another entire line of AMD stuff "soon".
Still no answer as to why you'd spend more to get less.

Yeah I would be paring the 8100 with the faster 1030 with its 2GB of dedicated ram, much faster than the 2200G. Cheaper coffee mobos hitting the end of this month.
2200G is weak sauce man, talking about the 2400G.

Competing on price?! What are you smoking?!Who the hell is gaming on an Intel IGPU? These RR APUs are too expensive. If AMD does not want to sink back to 2% market share they better start competing on price.
