An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

But it really doesnt matter what level u get, as every enemy, even the humble rat, levels with you, so it will be no easier or harder when your really high.

Haven't noticed rats getting any tougher at level 19. A lot of the monsters at the start have been replaced by souped up versions and loads of completely new monsters have been introduced as I levelled up. I still get zombies, mud crabs and so on but they're pushovers compared to wraiths, spriggans, frost astronachs etc. that now populate my fighting areas.

I can go in the same dungeon that I did when I was level 2 and it's a completely different experience. It's an excellent system.

Have been wondering if you level up at say +3, +3, +2, and not the magical +5, do the 'monsters' level up as the same as you or do they just get +5 in everything. Or is it not relevent?

I think its only your level, rather than your skills and attributes they work off, so if you have high skills but a low level it can be easy, but if you level up too fast without raising combat skills across the board it can get quite tough.

For Namira:
Reduce your personality, cheap wine, potion or spell etc.

I've never been back through dungeons I've done before, is all the loot replaced to make it worthwhile going back again?

You could essentially make a super-char by picking all your combat/spell skills as secondary skills and having all crappy skills as your primary, that way you'd never level, but you'd be so much harder than the monsters due to high secondary skills. Like have 100 blade at level 1, you could slice through everything.

I don't think the loot will be there again (but if there is it's  ), you can however polish your combat skills with some canon fodder.

With regards to spells, I've got Flare and heal minor wounds as ones which i can use whenever. Is it possible to get other spells as the rest are one off use scrolls.

Buy them at the mages guild :)

That would be pretty boring. You would never get any good items because you are only level 1, you would most likely 1 shot most things and there are level requirments for some quests. Might as well level up and use god mode...

I must admit, I do tend to hold back on the levelling a little until I feel ready to face harder creatures with better weapons/armour I have found along the way. I once levelled from about 8-13 at once and got my backside handed to me for a while!

All depends on how u level, i came upstuck a bit when i kept doing alchemy for a couple of levels without any combat, I now try and just stick to marksmanship and blades, and once i get the levelup icon, I make a load of potions before i sleep.

You won't get attribute multipliers (for the immediate level up) for increasing skills after getting the level up icon, they rollover to the next level.

has anyone tried Oblivion with an SLI setup ? will SLI improve performance at 1280x1024 (maximum my monitor will do) ?

btw, that is 2x 256Mb 7800GTX 's :)

thanks

I tried it with 2 x 7900GTX and could run maxed out at 2560 x 1600 on my Dell FPW3007. I had to tweak it a little mind you to get really decent framerates.
