An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

A Brush With Death Bug

I was doing the quest a brush with death, when i found a bug in the last part for the quest when (highlight to read) you have to hand back the paint brush and the painter paints a portal but no portal appears

After searching this forum, i found no answer but at the official oblivion forum, i found a good solution. So, here it is for any body that wants to search for it in this thread (highlight to read):

After the painter paints the portal then just type in this into the console
player.moveto 00005192
setstage MS14 75

Worked a treat for me but it's one of those bugs they should definately fix...

Good screenies. It's nice work that ATI can get AA and HDR working through driver releases. It'd be better if Nvidia could do the same though! :p

Hi,

OK, i just started to play Oblivion and i'm not happy with the performance at the resolutions i'm used to playing at etc, so i've decided to do a PCI-E overhaul (board and vid card)

This is a long thread to read through, so i'd appreciate it if you guys could tell me if a MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum and a X1900XTX would give me the performance i need? or is this game just a poor performer on most new cards?

I managed to get through FEAR, but this game takes the biscuit on slow performance... The moneys not an issue as long as it's well spent, after all who likes wasting money.

Thanks for any advice

your cpu will bottleneck that card :)

any idea where I can get 50 vampire dusts? been kicked out of the mages guild for doing a theifs guild task (got attacked by a mage)

I didn't think the cpu would cause that much of a bottle neck

Are the new Dual cores really that much better?

What would you suggest?

Thanks

Heres my new horse armour :D

And here is a bug ive found, did a fast travel while on *** back of my horse and ended up like this  Had to revert to an old save couldnt dismount or nothing.

Installed and won't be going back. Very impressed with it, especially the rocks. Somehow it's also cured my crashing when exiting the game. Top drawer :)
Oh and NO performance hit whatsoever.

I'm used to playing on 1280X1024 or 1600x1200 with AA AF, but on this game it chugs along at certain areas at those settings :(

I've tried playing at 1024x768, but there's quite a difference visually, although it does perform a lot better... oh the joys of pc's :)
