An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

Possible spoiler below regarding a person...!!!! (Umbra)

What is up with this rock hard bitch called Umbra

I found her in a cave and got pummeled (level 7) so I go out and buy a armour/weapon breaking sword and finally beat her (just) but shouldn't I have encountered her this soon in my game?

I took her armour and weapon but should I have kept her alive for a later quest and is there anything else I need to do or shouldn't have done?

I'll assume you meant Umbra, Bruma's a City.

She's part of the quest for one of the Daedric Shrines. I've never tried doing what you just did but I've read that it messes up the Daedric Shrine quests which you need to do all of to get a pretty awesome reward. (I've got it and it really is cool).

However, having ebony armour and Umbra's Sword at lvl7 will give you a pretty good advantage :)

Yes, that's the one.

Strange thing is that I thought you cannot kill important persons as you would knock them unconscious but she is deffo dead.

And I just played for 2 hours after killing her :(

She is there to be killed, and only to be killed! :p

Quest spoiler:

You can get a quest to kill her, and take the sword, and you can either give the sword to the quest giver (haven't done it so don't know it) and get something in return, again I don't know what this is, or you can keep the amazing sword. However, if you plan on keeping it for a long time, like I have, I recommend not compelting/getting the quest, because the sword will go from weighing 0 as a quest item, to something like 50, which would take up a lot of my carrying capacity, but the stats will be exactly the same. So take your pic! It is a very good sword, so unless you don't use swords at all, I recommend keeping it.

dont worry too much chap, I did the same thing, you can still complete the quest if you visit the appropriate shrine.

But i found that the sword is more useful to me than the reward you get for the quest, so i went back to the save when i'd just got the sword, which on a plus note, weighs nothing if you dont visit the shrine in question, so thats a bonus too.

i went to the shrine and told the guy i wanted to keep the sword and the quest still completed it. Maybe it does weigh more now though. Weight generally isn't an issue for me though.

Just use the spawn additem cheat if you really want that item (I have a full set of elven armour except for the helmet, entered the code seemed to work- text appeared on top left- but nothing in inventory the code worked for another item though)

the reward for that quest that isn't the Sword is pretty rubbish anyway. You're much better off taking Umbra, then when you have Umbra and Azura's Star, you never have to pay to recharge magical items again! that's WAY better than +20 personality or whatever. You can just spend all that money you save (recharging costs LOADS!) on bribing people instead of using the mask.

WHAT!? that's like... miles away... wait a second... you're not one of those arrow key freaks are you? ;)
just because I'm one of the few people here who use their mouse in the correct hand, don't think I'm wrong!

I thought she was level 20?

Computer says noooo...

She's level 50 alright, going by the construction set.
I just stuck her with some arrows after jumping up out of reach. Works for most.

Pretty stupid enemy AI really  A great touch would be if you were doing something stupid (like jumping up and down, sheathing/unsheathing weapon, changing clothes in the street) NPC stare and make fun of you, or perhaps get arrested if changing armour or walking around just in underpants. :D

Also if you can use cast spells/use bow/sword whilst on horseback (pretty obvious really)

it's kind of strange how you can walk about in towns in full daedric get-up with your helmet on and no one cares. pretty sure you couldn't do that in morrowind. I mean, When I summon a Dremora Lord, we look just the same, he's slightly taller and doesn't have goldbrand, but there's not much difference.

I've had people comment I look ugly when dressed in daedric. But no, apart from occasional similar comments in MW no-one cared there either.

Theres nothing saying where her house is, still cant find it lol :(
Make sure that quest is your active one. Go into your journal (F4, 4th tab from the right) and click on the entry for that quest. The marker should now appear on the map.
