An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

buy a few, I found that with around 50-60 arrows your good for a long time (picking em up off dead bodys after helps)
I just wish you could ALWAYS get the arrows back.
For some reason I seem to lose quite a few arrows, usually when I need 4 to kill something and loot afterwards I don't always get the arrows back and they stay stuck in the body.

But buying sounds like a good idea, I just don't think I have seen them in the list of buyable items yet.

hmm, I've invested in all the shops that I use (master of merc) so I dunno if its just because I've done that but all the ones I've been to have these and glass and everything else, dremora barbed arrows are good too, try poisoning the arrow before you fire (pull bow out and use a poison, it will ask if you want to poison your next arrow with it, realy good if you've got high alchamy)

Alchemy, wots that, I am a dumb strong sword wielding guy in heavy Umbra armour :p

I think my Alchemy skill is still at 5 :o

I think your level is much higher than mine though, I am 'only' at level 12 at the moment.

I played non stop for a few days, did all the quests then went mad with my main account just to see what would happen if I maxed out all the skills etc (with console, so every skill/atrib is at 255) for the leveling up of baddies etc
basicaly everyones in glass or mythril armour, and using glass or deadric weapons!

whats this ubra quest everyone talks about?

With high sneak, I've be able to recycle arrows! Fire off an arrow, move either left or right, and then enemy won't know where you are. They'll then come over to where you were, and then you can just pickpocket the arrow back of them (at lvl 18 +).

But I agree, the low to mid teen lvl's are hard work - then just use the terrain around you to your advantage.

With regards to getting arrows back, the default recovery rate is 50%. I've been using a mod that increases this to 75%. I don't think this one is the exact one I'm using but it does the same thing. There is one that increases it to 100% but the link isn't working at the moment.

Umbra is a NPC in a Ayleid Ruin that is level 50 fixed, she has a nice sword that can soul trap and full Ebony armour.

I beat her at level 7 so have a nice strong armour and sword compared to the ones I find.

just south/south-west of Imperial City (across the lake from the Waterfront).

the name sounds kinda like "Vatican" or something, I can't remember... i'm sure it begins with a "V" anyway. :)

best arrows are the dearic or whatever its called (ofcorse) but they are hard to get.

not really...
there's Enchanted arrows which are much better. I have a few "Arrows of Immolation" which are base dmg 6 (marksman 57) + 100fire in 100ft for 10secs. I doubt there's an enemy in the game that could stand up to 1 of them (except mehrunes dagon who is unkillable)

Vahcaten I think. The armour might not be ebony, its levelled heavy armour, so may be equivalent in rating to steel or orcish while still weighing as much as ebony if you get it before level 15.

yes but iirc there area only a few of them in game,
I'm talking about the normal no magic ones

DO NOT DO THIS EVEN IF YOU ARE BORED!!!

I got bored and am really at the end of this characters rise to fame having completed almost all guild quests, MQ and stacks of side quests. So I raisd every skill and attribute to 250 and its ridiculous!

I can run about 4 times faster than a horse, I can jump on to virtually any house roof in any town. I can jump horizontally about 100 metres, and my strength enables me to carry 1400 or so pounds of equipment! 1 Hit kills virtually anything but minotaur lords, they take two hits, and thats with a moderately powered blade. I can go into sneak mode and become practically invisible, and I can hit the eye of a needle from half a mile with a bow. Nobody haggles with me being completely overwhelmed by my godlike charisma! :D I can hack all that except this:

Worse of all.....is that your personality is soooo high, nobody wants to attack you, not bears, not bandits not anything....

So, I've come to the end of Torlok Eldor, and probably playing oblvion altogether for a fair while. Wonderful game, but once you max your character its far too easy to be godlike.

How have you got them up to 250? Did you go to prison lots? Or power level?

I only ask as I thought characters stop levelling around 50, and the attributes don't go much over 100...

Or was it a mod?

My 1st character's got 120 in sneak, and effectively feels invisible, so I'd agree getting everything to insane levels would make it too easy and boring, especially if nothing wants to fight you!

Its easy to be godlike without all that, I have armour and equipment for a total of 101% damage reflect and 110% magic resist, or I think 100% chameleon would make you invisible all the time. Neither of those really 'break' the game as such, everything else happens normally. Raising things to 255 is a little outside the scope of normality, so what do you expect?

I've got a bit bored now aswell with my level 28 character who's done all the quests - but I'm away for two weeks from today, so I'll see if I fancy playing a bit more or as anew character when I'm back :).

I used the ModPCSkill, xxxxx, yyy

and

ModPCA, xxxxxx, yyy

...console commands

where xxxxx is the name of the skill or attribute and yyy is the amount you want to increase it by. You become a master at 100.

Level wise I'm level 42 (but if I sleep it should rise significantly now!)

At the risk of sounding stupid:
How do you bind a specific weapon to a hotkey?

Go into your inventory, hold down 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 (a popup should appear looking like an old phone dial) and click on the weapon. It should appear in the dial popup. Then just press the corresponding number once you're out of the inventory to equip it\de-equip it.

Anyone know what staff's you can get when joining the Arcane University, following the mage guild quests?

UESP said it was dependent on the conversation options (at work, so can't find out).

Thanks, I could not find it in the manual and I think I skipped it at the beginning of the game.
