An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

Depending on your level, GSGs can be found in the inventory of shopkeepers who sell SGs. This includes the Mages Guild vendors. But SGs are leveled items, so random generation doesn't start until about level 12.

Fast Travel to a city. If you get the massage: "Shadowmere has been stabled..." etc then your question is answered. If not, he/she is back where you first got him/her.

Who's completed the shivering isles then?
i've started it again. my last visit resulted in a corruption and i had to start again!
I've gone a bit further than last time but it's a bit crap. very scripted, the folk don't impress me and the monsters are lame. getting the itch to go back to cyrodiil. does it get any better?
so far i've got the dungeon trap working again and am doing the quests for the duke and duchess..... yawn!

If im honest, im not enjoying it.
maybe it's gets better?
all i know is my foxy evil woman has the mages guild to assainate and the Damarask quest (mod) to do.
Lord sheogorath and his arse scotts accent annoy me and the dark seducers and golden saints are all boss eyed and have a really crap line in chat up!
I did want to do the 'construct your own gatekeeper' malarkey but i need someone to post here why I should bother to carry on.

Just thought i'd revive this *little* thread as im about to give Oblivion another blast with my shiny 8800GT and OOO mod - should help stop reaching level 20 within the first 15 hours or so!

Now all i gotta do is decide on what type of arse-kicking my character will be doing..... *mmmmmm bows*

i too will reinstalling this later today once my 8800gt arrives finally I can play ot with it all on max :) OOO is good but it takes forever to level up, an i mean Forever. I only ever got to level 3 with OOO installed and at level 1 nearly all the dungeons are no go areas too dam hard.

Francesco level mod looks good though I'm gonna try that instead

I did the same thing, reinstalled Oblivion with the Oblivion Mod Manager and installed an arse load of mods which really improved it a lot. Only problem is that it crashes so frequently now and I can't figure out what's causing it.

Ironic...I just re-installed this last night too to see what it's like with my 8800GT. Very nice and shiney, and nice scenery once outside - never seen so many trees!

Stealty Bosmer Assassin for the win.

Labr@t, did you use the 1.3 version or 1.31 of OOO - i like the sound of what OOO does, besides the levelling - and also got sick of getting 1/8th of the way into my character and getting glass/daedric/ebony armour.... and being able to enchant it - it felt like levels 1-6 flew by, by which point mid-range weapons and armours were available not long after you have cleared Kvatch!!

Apparently the 1.31 patch for OOO slows the levelling speed to about 3x slower than standard - which sounds ideal. I also like the idea now that I know the game, of having a puny-assed character running away at the start, then returning to kick arse and chew bubblegum later! (oh wait...)

having some fun now getting my nord through the mages guild he is so thick iam relying on flare to take out wrath's and the like.

i might do another oblivion gate raid run to make a set of armour full of magic buffs.

ts odd that in essence to make the most powerful character you may have to deliberately gimp the start, make sure your main skills are as low as possible and cover the bulk of the attributes your interested in, starting with high stats puts a hefty limit on your max level.
