Best visuals I have seen in a game ever... Bar none. That includes Quake IV, FEAR, HL2 etc...etc...

I'm in awe every step I take.

Can you post some screenies then? Coz the ones from earlier in this thread look worse than FarCry.
 
Ive just got this email from ********

If it dosent arrive by tommorow then im going out buying one from a local store and then when it comes saying to said store that I want a refund (should be ok as boxed up). I thought it was garanteed next day :mad:

The aforementioned offshore company always say 3-5 days, which is the reason I was happy to pay a little more and use Gameplay for a higher chance of getting it sooner.

You may get lucky and get it tomorrow/friday, but you might not... it's a chance you take.

Okey dokey, I'll do so shortly. But believe me when I say the graphics in this game are leagues above Far Cry. Also you have to remember what the game is doing in the background. Far Cry was a 1st person shooter, Oblivion is an RPG. Which genre do you think requires more in the way of background processing before we even get started on the rendering? :)
 
Right, it looks like everyone will be getting their copies tomorrow, so I'm going to say this once and very clearly.

you should look into the spoiler tag mod for vBulletin, would work wonders here.
 
For those who have lower end systems like myself, Oblivion runs adequately. I was fearing that i would have to run 1024x768 at low on my 6800nu but i can actually run it better than that ;)

Just to say i'm getting about 20-30fps outside and about 40-60fps indoors

Here you go...

1280x1024
Everything on max (but with no .ini tweaks to improve grass draw distance)
4x AA + Bloom
No HDR

I decided I preferred the look of the game without the HDR. AA looks better to me overall and in my eyes the bloom effect gives 90% isn't far off HDR.







Spec is:

Athlon 64 3700+ @ 2500
2Gb RAM
Geforce 7800GTX

Can you use fraps so we can get a better indication of performance? ;) (i actually want to know whether i should invest in an XTX soon, or wait for a conroe and r600 set up :p)
 
Bah it took me ages to compress those down and host them up lol... I'll do one more with the FRAPS counter running. Give me a minute. :p

Yeah, i took me ages to try and link my images on fileshack :D

I think i'll just get back to playing the game rather than doing screenies. Level 3 here i come... :p

It gives you the option to run in a window but i've not tried it
