My game should be here friday and i cant wait i gave the requirement lab ago and i passed on on recommendations but im not too sure how accurate it is.
Has anyone got a similiar spec to me hows it running, i would like everything on max except vsync (i never notice tearing) at 1280x1024.

Just ran that little program and here is the message i got
Congratulations, your system will Rock this product! Wish we had a system that hot you lucky dog.

Though it did say to updat my soundcard drivers and ati drivers, they are all ready the newiest ones, creative havent updated the audigy 2zs drivers for some time now.

I stole a horse earlier, heh...Excellent fun riding it around for a while.

This 'fast travel' feature though, doesn't that completely defeat the object of a steed? You can just open up the map and travel to any location pretty much :/

Are you taking the mick? :p

You prob have the best possible spec for the game. It'll run smooth as silk on a system like that.

EDIT: @ bakes0310

It will come in handy, it was one of the reasons i got bored with morrowind all that traiepsing bac and forward to the same locations for quests.

I've just uploaded a load of screenshots I have taken over the last couple of hours. I'll link to a post on my forum as there is a low limit on the number of images you can post in one post here.

There are 18 screenshots, and I've tried to keep them between 100 and 200kb (at 1280*1024).CLICK HERE TO SEE SCREENSHOTS - if anyone wants any specific screenshots or any higher quality ones, let me know and I'll try my best

Why is everyone giving a damn what it looks like, its a rpg, so its main party piece will be its story, or you playing a role, not like a FPS where all that matters is it looks good.

Yeah people only play CS for the graphics. :confused:

What a load of rubbish...

After a few weeks of plodding round the Morrowind countryside I decided I'd had enough. I went online and found some hacked '30 league boots' and a readable signpost hack....which was nice. A bit later I downloaded a teleporter book which was damn handy. I'm sure some hacked objects will be out soon enough for Oblivion for those interested.

I don't have the 360 version but the reviews state that the draw distance is better on the PC version. Whether thats true or not I don't know but I do know that by editing the .ini file on the PC version you can make the draw distance far better than the 360 version. Of course you would need a hefty system to handle it. :)

This is why I like PC gaming. You can pick the game up again in 2 years time when you have a new system, and it'll look even better.

Case in point being the Morrowind FPS optimiser that makes morrowind play with a much better draw distance than possible at the time of the games release.

I've taken some screenshot comparisons and honestly, HDR enabled looks far better than AA and bloom. I've cranked the resolution up to 1600x1200 and I can barely notice any jaggies, plus my FPS has pretty much remained the same.

The HDR also adds depth and color to the textures. With bloom they look bland and flat in comparison.

My advice is turn on HDR and crank up the resolution.

Has anyone figured out the oblivion config settings yet? I am sure you can change the texture detail range so that it doesnt look so poo for the floor/grass.

I play BF2 quite a bit, I was using it more as a general statement to say, this sort of game was brilliant on the infinity engine, so the graphics do not make the game, HL1 and Q3 prove graphics are not everything.

This sort of game is about the gameplay, not it looking pretty.

My response was sparked mainly by two people on msn saying it was rubbish after 30 minutes, due to it not looking as good as far cry.

Graphics do not make any game.

Found this....

NO MORE UGLINESS!

Go to My Documents->My Games->Oblivion->Oblivion.ini

Look for the lines...

uGridDistantCount=25
uGridsToLoad=5

uGridDistantCount controls how much of the actual detailed game world is loaded at a time, and uGridsToLoad controls how much it will move the boundaries every time you move in and out of an area.

Fair warning guys, it takes MUCH longer to load a save game (if you're outside) if you increase the first option. I have mine set to 50, and it takes about twice as long to load.

gotta say one thing that makes me wanna get this game is the community on here.

Sharing specs and adventures in game.

can't wait till we all have it and playing around telling eachother how we did this and stole that.

Should be fun in themonths to come.

It's offcialy out today isn't it? (looking at some website)

you reakon there will be any left in stock to buy in the shop?

Thanks
