An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

God damn, seems impossible to get away with anything in this game.

I crept into a little hutch outside of town and attacked the occupier. He ran outside to try and escape, I followed. Then he ran back inside and I killed him, stole his belongings...etc :p

A guard somehow became aware of my malicious act and forced a fine upon me >_<

Where/when do you get a steed? It takes ages to walk everywhere :/

Someone gives you there horse about 2 hours into the game. Also you can go on the map and quick travel...

I stole one from the orcs stables and rode off to the mountains, i kept riding for 1/2 hr towards north thats how big this game is !

And once at the top of a mountain range i watched the sun come up !!!! amazing

I get the feeling if you decide to follow the main quest i go FAR outta my depth too fast... need to get back home to the start :)

Just stole a horse and ran like hell!

Must say i'm a little disappointed with the draw distances on max settings and the way the grass etc kinda stops in the distance on the hills.

but apart from those minor quibbles its an excellent game. You just need patience to get it going then it flows
 
Hopefully you can make yourself some scrolls of Icarian flight, that was the way to travel in Morrowind, shame there were only a few of them :(
 
Right, i take a lot fo the stuff i said back. It turned out i had V Sync on, which was hammering my FPS, turned it off and its playable now. I know for some people 20 FPS is fine, for me, its not. I cant play games at 20FPS, i just dont like it, it annoys me. However since i turned V Sync off its much smoother....

Anyway, played for hours tonight, done loads of gladiator battles, and really liking the game..... Still confused about a lot of stuff, and dont really know whats going on with the story but just getting on with it.....

As for the graphics, i know its not the most important thing, but compared to the vids/screenies i saw, its a bit of a let down, i was hoping for more tbh.. That doesnt mean it still isnt good though, some of the dense forests look really nice...

Good game so far, looking forward to getting more into it
 
In the countryside, I chanced upon a guard on a horse. I attacked him. He got off the horse, and whilst off, I quickly got on. And then I ran far far away.

I also went into a shop and attacked the shopkeeper unconcious. A guard came in, of which I killed. Luckily, another guard did not come in for a short time, so I had just enough time to equip myself with the guard's armour. When another guard came in through the door from outside, he checked the body to see it was still warm - so the guard had been dead for not too long. He said he was going to search it. And no one recognised me, cos I was covered in the dead guard's armour!

Now that is nice :)

I've sinced switched to the saved game before I attacked the guard on the horse....

Maybe someone could come up with a story book of their trip round Oblivion?

i have got every high and this is worst case scenario ie middle of forest/flowers/grass

Wow thats well good, im finding it really hard to kill people, especially the guards. Are you quite a high level, or just good at it?

I would love to get the guards armour.....
When you stole the horse, did you get caught later on, or is it then yours forever?
 
does it make much difference if you have the slider towards the left on difficulty, because the fps lag makes combat pretty difficult and i keep getting owned by goblins : /
 
Have to say never played this type of game before but im hooked.

Runs great for me yeh draw distance aint all great but at least its decent half of games ive played have never had this type of draw distance im running bloom 4x aa and 1280 by 1024.

Everthing up close looks amazing especially when your outside walking around so much to explore and do.

Has anyone become a gladiator yet its great fun you win gold. ?

Yeah, ive won 4 or 5 fights so far, just beat the Sisters.

HDR makes s much different, i turned off AA, whacked up the res and put on HDR, it looks so much better now, runs great inside, bit slow outside at times but ill have to live with that i guess.

ps. just tried fighting a guard, i got owned

Here I go:

I've been cheating... :( I've turned on stuff that I'm not supposed to... and I wont put spoilers on this board. This was only to test the cheats and boy are they good :) But as I said I've reverted to a saved game so continuing the game as normal.

The horse is yours. Well unless you go up to a guard and they will recognise you as a thief and do their necessary...
