Now can anyone who is playing already tell me.

Can you teather up the horse so you dont lose it?

Is it also a solo only affair or can you team up with npc's?

Also can you get a pet aka world of warcraft style??

How do you select surround sound 5.1? Ive bought a 5.1 setup JUST to play this game but there arnt any options!?

I heard you can have a dog as a pet, dont know if it's true.

Regarding teaming up, you can have certain NPCs battle with you, but only as part of a quest or as a guild-related thing with a certain guild.

When people get attacked on them, they either ride away, or get off and fight. Dogs are the only other "pet" creatures we have -- but you can't ride those.

I'm actually getting a better framerate with HDR @ 1600x1200 than AA and bloom @ 1280x1024 on my X1900XTX. Jaggies are barely noticeable at 1600x1200 also.

Indeed but thats the thing. A lot of us use LCD's or HDTV's which are limited to 1280x1024 and 1366x768 respectively. At such resolutions even adding 2x AA really makes all the difference in the world. At 1600x1200 and above I imagine the whole 'jaggy' issue to be extremely unimportant. At such resolutions I would likely choose HDR over AA also.

Horses that you have stolen will run off the second you get off them, you can't teather them.

Ones which you buy or where given will stay put wherever you left it, if you fast travel somewhere they will automatically be put in the nearest stables.

The technical answer to that question is far too long to answer here.

Basically only the latest ATI cards have the capability of doing so. But even those cards are currently unable to in Oblivion due to Bethesda's implementation of HDR. Half Life 2's HDR was not true HDR so though fact that we could do it in that game is a moot point.

Well got it running at 1280x1024, HDR (looks better than AA), runs sweet as a nut ! very good frame rate and looks awesome

try using the cached option - usually gets round the blocked sites rule

When google brings back its search results you'll notice next to the URL of each site is a CACHED link. Won't always be the most up to date info but very handy for getting round work firewalls etc

I'd recommend installing FRAPS (google it) - it makes light work of taking screenshots.
