An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

OK, loving it. Installed on newly formatted rig.

I have been worried about my GFX card performance but i am now outside and it isn't juttering.....

When/how will i know if my GFX card is up to the job? I have an offer of a GFX card i can buy today, if i don't he will sell it on ebay and i would have lost the deal. Decision decisions....

Just updated my drivers to 84.21 (latest for x64 on Guru3D) and coolbits for my 7800GT, installing the game now, so we'll see how it runs.

Someone remind me - whats the button to take a screenshot?

From gameFAQs -

There is a setting in the INI file:
bAllowScreenShot=0

change to:
bAllowScreenShot=1

Also, two related items for the screenshots:
iScreenShotIndex=0
SScreenShotBaseName=Oblivion

There are two INIs, one in the game folder called "Oblivion_default.ini", this is the one it uses to generate the REAL one....
My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Oblivion.ini

Edit the first one if you want to default to having screenshots on by default for all users. The settings it uses at runtime are the ones from My Documents folder.

After you mod the INI file, you can press PRTSCN button and Oblivion will write a BMP file to your game folder.

That's a known issue, but I think there is a work around... look for a post by GordyR a few pages back - it does mean altering your country in Windows I think as well to allow the game to activate.

Ive got the game at last it arrived about 12:00 so ive been playing on it for 2 hours heres what i think so far:

I ramped up all the graphic settings on max except i do not have hdr on just AA and bloom. When i started the game the graphics do look really nice but in my oppinion i still think farcry beats it. The story feels rich and very intersting. I made a custom class "swordsman" he seems to kill things quite well but not too easily so thats cool, dont want him too overpowering.
I havent really gotten used to using block yet i usually just charge in and just slash :p
So far ive been in about 3 dundgeons and ive just came out of a town after joining the fighters guild.
So now im off to get me a fighters guild mission and ive currently saved it so that im facing another dundgeon that i can see, so i dont forget to go in.

This game really rocks and i think im gonna go back to it :cool:

Oh almost forgot the game runs very smooth ;)

Can't believe I dont have this yet, pre-ordered it expecting it to come through today and it hasn't hope it arrives tomorow :/

Right I remade my character and made him mainly a mage with sword and block.

tryed to get into the mage guild outside the imperial city but he just says talk the the heads of the local guild halls. No names or anything.

Anyone got any tips? Ive asked around but I cant ask about the mage guild for somereason, its not an option.

Anyone here using SLI? Im having difficulty with getting the "show GPU load balancing" to work, so I cant check to see if its working or not.

Add me to MSN (in trust) or start a new thread, don't want to spoil it for others.
