Andor (Star Wars)

So i presume this is basically a prequel to rogue one film since the timing seems about right, one of the characters is in both and s2 seems like it might tie into it too.
originally it was plan as a 5 season show that leads up to the events of rogue one. but it was retooled for it to be 2 seasons with each season consisting of 12 episode each and season 2 ending at or just before rogue one.

Good ending to a great series. The funeral really ramped up the tension before a pretty satisfying conclusion. Probably the best D+ series I've seen yet, The Mandolorian is different in it's storytelling style but this just edges it.

I have to say Andor the character has grown on me all series and the finale kind of brought it together the way everyone looked to him on Ferrix (sp?) confirmed a depth to the character and it felt earned by that point. The perception of real time actually passing makes the story so much more compelling, Rogue One was brilliant but it felt like I've been on longer Rubgy tours or Stag Do's. That film needed to feel like the team was building for longer but in Andor that time is taken you can see perceptions changing and taking hold.

glad they scrapped that idea... zzz

Great finale.

Dont miss the post-credit scene :)
I managed to fall asleep towards the end of the funeral and woke up just as the post credit came up, but got very confused when rewatching the last 20 minutes and it wasn't at the end, thought i'd made it up in my head as didn't realise it was a post credit scene!

This season went from one of the most boring things I've watched for the first 3 episodes to one of the best series I've watched recently! Glad I stuck with it

Same, I wasn't captured at first but it surprised me in a good way as the show progressed. Really enjoyed it.

Same! I thought it was going to be one of the worse (not bad, just not the best) D+ SW series but turned out to be my favourite so far.

Good god that was such an amazing series and I want to watch it again already, but I will wait until Season 2 is about to drop and then binge it. It is an outstanding example of when great writing, great acting and great directing all meld together, without any desire to treat the audience like idiots or pander to any bad trends like forced humour. It is just a great and honest and brutal cinematic experience all in one, with so many poignant scenes, and it all just looks so realistic. They absolutely nailed the atmosphere of the setting and also the Imperials are just so, so well done and casted. They are cold, callous and mostly evil and just so classically 'British Empire' like in the original trilogy and that is exactly how I want them to be.

This is as close to perfect for me as it gets and I would give it an easy 9/10. I really hope Season 2 can deliver the same or better quality.
