Anno 2205 - Hit strategy series goes into space!

I seam to be missing English audio, anyone the same?

Its bugged, seems to have affected the majority of people including me.

Done up to unlocking the first arctic sector.Game is visually great, absolutely hammering my 970 lol,its peaked at 250w!Not even close to maxxed out either.

contemplating restarting the game on expert, started on advance, but really its too easy.A lot of stuff has been heavily streamlined sadly.

Cant even find a breakdown of tax revenue by population level :(

One for the sales

They seem to be holding an olive branch to casual players, or those perhaps just testing the rts/builder waters

£50 markup (without the day 1 DLC) even considering it is steam with their pound of flesh is disgusting, even if it turns out ubi manage to cut a diamond from the rough with this one

Tbh I bought it on Sunday for £18, which is close or better to a sale price anyway. Which for the Anno series gameplay I'm happy to pay. If its true its been dumbed down loads, then it won't have the usual longevity, but still. I'll wait a week or two for some patches and then play it.

Initial impressions are that it's visually stunning, very polished and easy to play - only it's the 'easy part' which is a bit worrying. You don't seem to get a choice of randomised maps and only a measly choice of three !!!

After about an hours play I had a massive city all the industry I needed and everything ticking along nicely. It didn't feel like I was building 'my' utopia but that I was just going along complying with some bint telling what to do next and what to build.

Off work today, nice, so will have a good mess about and maybe give it a score.

*** I had to go into Control Panel and mess about with location/language then relog back into Uplay and I had the option for English which ten downloaded the voices ingame.***

Just been reading that they've got rid of the MP and coop :( such a shame used to love playing coop 2070.

Downloading now, will have a go this evening. I was a bit put off by the learning curve on 2070 but admittedly didn't give it much of a chance.

FD : BB employee (but don't work on Anno)

So 3-4 hours straight and the time has flown by. It is 'Anno dilute' but it's still got that hook and the RTS battles, albiet very basic, are not that bad plus you get tons of goodies from them.

It's good fun, it's no classic and the longevity might be questionable plus I fully expect paid DLC maps sooner than later. I still have a long way to go, I need tons more cash to start my 2nd phase in the Artic and then onto space.

If you are happy to plod along without MP then yes it's probably worth £18.

If, by all accounts, it's as dumbed down as it's sounding, can you complain at a staff meeting :p?

If it is dumbed down compared to 2070 I am disappointed. Really liked 2070 and had hoped that 2205 would provide a new setting, new features and requirements but retain the playability and complexity.

I'm running it fine at 1440p (gtx 980/4770k 4.6/16 gig ram) with max settings. Can't say I've noticed any framerate issues but I don't tend to run fraps on these games and tbh I'd rather not even find out now.

Well it's got me hooked! I've restarted a new corp and put more time into balancing production and expansion whilst leaving out the side missions for now. It defo has that just another 10mins which turn into another hour!

Reviews are generally good, quite a few up on youtube now if your still not sure. I'd say it's worth the £18, so far.

One man's dumbed down is another's streamlined :P Played a couple of hours last night and enjoyed it, the graphics are great although I would have liked it to run a little better on crossfire 280x, but I am running at 1600p and I whacked it to ultra to start with. Getting a little tired with the crap performance from AMD, these DX12 games that give AMD and crossfire a big boost can't come soon enough. Looks great still.

I never quite got into 2070 but 2205 is much more accessible. I don't get a lot of time on the PC these days but it'll be nice to sit and drop into for an hour here and there.
