Truth hurts?

That directed at me? Read my post above :)

*edit* Whether or not the question was avoided mark today has shown you something (if you read my post about Sky news), Muslims are protesting right now with appropiate signs and it was organised by an Islamic Party not a bunch of angry lads.

mark_t50 are you saying they should be arrested because they said what they want?

They were calling for terrorist attacks..for europe to be destroyed...They were saying our children were going to die...

You dont think thats leaning slightly toward inciting hatred?

My argument was about double standards. It's ok for the leader of the BNP to be arrested for making inflamatory comments, but they did not arrest these Islamic fundamentalists for holding placards that used the memory of the 7/7 and 9/11 attacks as a direct threat towards Europe. That called for the beheading/massacre/slaughter of any who insult Islam.

The law of the land should apply to all, either it is against the law to promote this kind of message or it isn't. But it should apply to the likes of the BNP and Fundamentalist Islam alike.

On a personal note, yes, I would like to have seen the Police give them a damn good thrashing and them put them on the next plane to afghanistan, but maybe thats just me speaking out in my anger at the fact they disrespected our nation, our capitol and the memory of those would died in recent terrorist attacks. But then if Muslims are allowed to get miffed at an insult then surely non-muslims should be afforded the same right.

Why are so many of them dressed like terrorists? Why are they covering their face?

What are they protesting? Have they seen the cartoons? Do they read Danish newspapers (because I haven't seen the Danish newspapers)?

What about todays protests Balddog? ^^ No hatred it asks for an apology and a stop to the publishing of the cartoons.

All I see tbh cbs is that you will never come to an acceptable point here, the protest is fine and erm whats the "dressed like terrorists" lol :/

You are now asking questions you know answers too (excluding the terrorist ones, thats just silly).

Please don't tell me you think the London protest was 'fine'.

With regards to todays protest, that was a much better way to get a point accross. I have sympathy for the way Muslims feel regarding the cartoons, although I think the reaction worldwide is a bit over the top, but then I admit that I don't understand how powerful a Muslims faith can be to them and how much this could have offended them.

Having said that I would still like to see someone brought to account over the London protests, I found it extremelly offensive, for me it was as offensive as the issue with the cartoons. If the government and the mainstream Muslim society do not do something to address the problem then it will only be left to fester and cause more problems down the line.

No problem with those protests...Just the ones promising death on my children for something that happened in denmark.

Just read this...Prominant muslim leader condemning the protests yesterday..

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4676524.stm

Thats good to see, I just hope someone from the government also condemns it now. I'd also like to see those who took part in the demonstration charged with incitement to racial hatred or whatever the law is the BNP guys were charged with.

plz do not judge 2 billion because some of them act stupid

We have no way of assessing how many of them sympathise with actions like 7/7.
What we do see is this :

A cartoon is published and there is outrage around the world.

9/11 happens and we don't see anything matching the expression of outrage from muslims for this as we see from a cartoon.

Conclusion - Muslims care more about a cartoon than non muslims.

We can only judge upon what we see, experience and are aware of. If Muslims had flooded the worlds streets denouncing Osama Bin Laden after 9/11 then we might not tar them all with the same brush. After all they'll do it over a cartoon for crying out loud.

It seems pretty obvious that the really devout, peace loving Muslims are the true minority and live a 14, Edgar Street, Halifax, Yorkshire; all the rest are manic, radical bomb wearing terrorists. ;) :D

zain: If you are saying its ok for them to threaten to destroy Europe, kill our children and repeat 7/7 & 9/11 because of ONE person who drew a few cartoons, then you need help. QUICK!

serlex: We are not judging the whole Muslim community! We are judging the protesters.

The bit I don't understand is many things have been printed in newspapers that offend some group. You don't often see people reacting so badly, so why do these Muslim extremists need to react in this way?

Because they are "extremeists" ;)
