1. No.
2. Probably not, but so far you'd have to be downloading a silly amount (>300GB/month has been thrown about) to have any problem
3. More than you get already. Without more detail it's impossible to say.

Bit random when you get connected isnt it, router is syncing about 17000kbps / 1300kbps, but when i run speedtest on it im told its 8000kbps / 1000kbps ish, yet when i download it downloads at 1.1mb/s which is about 17000kbps isnt it ? with 14400kbps ish been 1mb/s if i remember ?

Cheers guys anyway, first online in my building lol

Quick question:

I'm currently on Be Pro 24mb, and getting a real 13mb. =54% of the max potential.

The person at O2 said my line could only get upto 16mb  even when I said "isn't the F&F deal for the Ultimate 20mb"..... they've sent us the Box (585v7) so just waiting for the switchover text message.

On O2 am I still going to be getting 13mb, or am I only going to get 54% of 16mb?

You will still get 13mb, it is still using the same technology (ADSL2+) so you'll see no difference. O2 are actually offering customers a great deal, instead of charging everyone a set price for up to 24mb they have split up packages to 8, 16 and 24 and only put you on a package that your line can handle.

It will be the same speed in all likelyhood, with Be/O2 you can only get what your line is good enough to handle, so if your line can only handle 13mbit due to legnth or noise, then it dosent matter weather you have the 16meg or 24 meg package, you will still get 13.

If you live far enough from the exchange so that the lines only good for say 9-10mbits then the 8 meg deal might be a more sensible choice.

If you're talking about using it on Sky, it's possible to retrieve your username and password. If you're talking about using a Sky router for Be, it's possible to flash the DG834GT Sky routers with a normal firmware and get it working as a 'proper' GT.

Either way, you've got access to WPA.

was meaning is it like sky.... ive got a o2 ver2 box cant seam to access wpa or wpa2 :S

edit:oops you can

are 02 good with torrents ?

AOL / CPW seem to have limited all my ports, im in DMZ atm and utorrent reckons my port is blocked when it isnt!

I've read through this entire thread once a few days ago but forgot this detail and don't want to go checking again.
Assuming i'm a BT/BT customer with an O2 mobile and a friend at O2 to set me up on an LLU enabled exchange (would be taking LLU too). What's the downtime on my line+internet?

On your voice service, nothing. O2 don't touch it.
On the ADSL, less than a day. It'll be longer than a migration between BTw ISPs because there's some manual work involved, but it won't be that long.

You don't actually need an O2 mobile for a staff friends and family deal, not that it matters to you but in case anyone else was wondering!

I'm moving to a new house tomorrow and my phone line gets activated on the 15th so i'm looking for a good LLU service, are o2 truly unlimited and aren't involved with this phorm crap?

I'd look through the thread but i'm lazy and their is too many pages :o :(

As long as you're on LLU, truly unlimited and currently not involved with Phorm.

You should read up as much as you can though - don't jump into things just because cool people like "Aekeron" say it's good.
