You've got this all wrong, you keep the money she gets pocket money and if she's naughty she looses a shiny pound or 5 out of her weekly allowance.

Yeah but the charges could have been avoided, you can't really avoid a service. I'm not agreeing with the OP in any way but I don't agree with your point either.

We both have bank account with a budget account connecting the two accounts so I was not stealing her money but moving our money around.

My wife for a long while always wanted to plug her phone to charge in my car, in the USB socket there. At some point I noticed and asked her why she didn't charge it at home... And she told me that in my car, it's free electricity!

Im interested if thats true though. The car can only produce or store so much energy, obvious example while braking the energy is 'lost' or if it were possible to use it for something while also slowing the car even slightly, free in a sense
