Anyone non-panic buying?

In such situation with widespread power loss you better hope no one else thinks the same and that the shops is using its own generators to power itself up to be able to serve you.

Sorry I misspoke "after 24 hours I'll be becoming a radier and getting me Generator"

I was getting some lunch from the cafe over the road from work yesterday and a guy came in and asked if he could buy two peppers. They did a deal in the end :p

2023 folks, it’ll only get better..

No shortage of fruit/veg in Stafford, but eggs have been scarce for a few months now. Sometimes the shelf is empty. In the case of Sainsbury's, eggs have been out of stock for so long that they have a different product range there. The press says that the egg shortage is due to aviation flu. However, it coincided with the start of COP27, so I think there is some vegan agenda going on.

To get round the rationing just use multiple self checkouts as there is nothing they can do to stop you.

Dont even like tomatoes etc so will chuck once mouldy but at least I can gloat online.

I've seen various social media posts where farmers and the like have eggs and fruit stacked high, given the rising cost of electricity and feed etc for the chickens they need to raise their costs to break even but the supermarkets refuse to increase the price they pay the farmers so you get the current shortages.

It's funny that the supermarkets won't pay more to the farmers but are happy to increase costs for the consumer.
Support your local farmer if you're lucky enough to have one.
