Anyone Tried The £14.99 "New PC" Win 8 Pro Offer ?

I think what's being openly discussed here goes beyond a simple breach of contract, as it involves deliberate and knowing deception (to which some people have freely admitted). Technically it's "fraud by misrepresentation," which is a criminal offence carrying a penalty of up to ten years in chokey, although I doubt if Interpol have been put on a high state of alert in this instance.

Personally I couldn't give a rat's nether regions what people do, but I'm a bit surprised that this thread is still going, and that the posters concerned haven't (yet) had a spanking from the mods. :)
What a load of nonsense, if Microsoft don't want to validate claims, that's their problem. Calling it a criminal offence is laughable.

i think microsoft did this on purpose so thousands of pirates buy a legit copy rather than get it from torrent sites.

i really like win 8 its very elegant & i love the android style games that you can get from the store its great :) ,i will be happy to buy the OEM version when my next PC build is due as i don't think i can use this upgrade version again on a new PC or can i ?

And you honestly believe "thousands of pirates" will buy this version instead?
Dillusions.
Pirates don't pay for software period. Their argument of "if software was cheaper..." is complete and utter BS. As long as there is a free version available they could charge £4.99 for Win8 and people would still pirate it.

It's shown in this very thread. The price for the legitimate upgrade is £25, yet people are still looking to reduce this cost further.
I can guarantee now that if I posted yet another "dodgy" link to a way of getting it for £9.99 everyone would go there and so on until I post the £0 link and that one gets followed instead - no matter how dodgy.

I know of 3 people so far that have bought the £15 upgrade that had pirated windows 7 installed on their laptops

Wrong I will openly admit that this is the first version of windows i have purchased .
I wouldnt have purchased it at 325 and had no intention to until I saw this thread.

and looks like other people are in the same boat

Took up this offer this morning. Never purchased a copy of Windows in my life until now. This is Microsoft doing it right for once. They get my cash, i get to own a LC. I suspect many a "filthy pirate" will take up this offer and Microsoft only stand to win...
