Anyone Using an Asus DSL-AC68U

still getting resets, always near 24 hour mark

tried tinkering with every settings, always same result. never had problem on old modem

what are the dsl stats page?

its strange to have disconnections every time by the end of 24 hrs
it may be something else?
have you changed adsl filter?

i know if bit swap is disabled it does not drop the snr for adsl line, unless you are really far from the exchange where you may need the bit swapping

I tried changing the bit swap but still seeing a huge amount of FEC down errors.

Any other suggestions?

yeap one more last one from me

take out the dsl cable of the modem
reboot
wait until modem fully load everything (will understand from the leds)
plug in the dsl cable and see if has fec errors

But really you should not worry about the fec
crc are good ... your connection seems good

I have infos from admins at draytek forum that BT has applied in some lines interleaved for now (perhaps till cabinets firmware will be updated)
(are few issues there as well with latency) ...
so if you are not seeing increase or some still with interleaved & perhaps still high latency, it could be because of this?

Perhaps users that known where to look at BT Openreach official site, may have infos about it

heres a picture of stats and settings, im on sky adsl and never had no disconnect problems on my old modem/router

i have filtered faceplate fitted so i have no external filters to plug in, the settings above are my latest i have tried many variations such as enabling bitswa/sra and also increasing my noise margin to allow for less errors, nothing has worked, very odd...in the dsl log just says modem hangup and it will reconnect itself roughly every 24 hours.

21.2 line attenuator down should not have disconnections really
also the crc errors are no worrying to me

the only i can think to disable the dynamic line adjustment (3rd setting on top)

with this enabled if the modem thinks the connection is not stable can change your snr target to lower so perhaps there is disconnection

Alternative change the Annex mode to A/L
& enable G.INP

EDIT
hmmm looking again your stats i can see UPstream snr 8.0 ....I think ( my Greek isp told me as well) if the Upper snr is lower than around 7 db can cause disconnections while the down snr may be fine
Now looking you have crc up errors .... i am not sure if the same valid with UK isp's

Perhaps some one can advise about your upstream snr?
keep an eye at the up snr if later will drop more than 8

Great news. DLM has done another positive change on my connection, I think after over two weeks of constant uptime.

From: 67M/20M, INP 5/0, Delay 16ms/1ms
To: 67M/20M, INP 3/0, Delay 8ms/1ms

That shows to me that the new firmware with ESNP is working out much better here.

EDIT: Typo, not INP 4, I meant INP 3.

So anyway. looks like one more positive change and I should be back to fastpath entirely :).

Good news indeed but why is it taking so long for your speed to come back up again, mine took a week...

Probably due to the amount of disconnects and errors. It can take up to 65 days if the amount was high enough and consistent from what I understand off of here. My line took a good few weeks to recover too.

tried the above you suggested and still getting disconnects, im starting to get dc twice a day.

would love to hear any other sky adsl users using this modem. frustrating as hell , tempted just to return it.

by the way here is my sky adsl stats running on my old sagem, flawless 212 hours uptime

Hi Michty_me

Dont forget that forum members get free shipping with us. you have been registered for long enough and have enough posts.

Is that so? Last time I was buying something off of here I was going to be charged £15 for it to be delivered. I think I made a forum post about it at the time. I'll look into it again though

I am on the current firmware with the updated UI and i have not had a problem with it. It has been rock solid so far and I am getting the max out of my line i can get. I would say it is just about there and for most people it will be suitable. for those wanting to tweak all settings and get the max out of it, it might not be fully ready yet.

I just looked into it again now.
Unfortunately it is still the same issue. £9 for shipping and for whatever reason OC still has Aberdeen as 'Eire and Scottish Islands'. I believe in the thread I created about this before I was told that it was down to DPD. This can't be true as I get stuff delivered by them all the time at normal rates. Ho hum.

Yup, I've noticed that the services comes up as a 2 day Eire and Scottish Islands, but oddly enough DPD always deliver next working day as usual. It's just OC though as other companies who use DPD are normal next day delivery.

Back on topic though, I'm still reluctant to give the DSL-AC68U another chance as I can't see the detailed line stats that I would like, namely ES and SES.

If I could see those and compare against my baseline from the HG612 and the results weren't too dissimilar then I'd happily use the DSL, especially as Ixel is reporting DLM improvements albeit slowly but surely.

I'll be waiting until I get home in may before I purchase it. Should hopefully see some further positive reports from users before I go to a shop and purchase. That way I'll have a good chunk of time to return it if I require to do so.
