Anyone Using an Asus DSL-AC68U

Still going fine on ESNP here.

Unfortunately still on 67M/20M, INP 5/0, Delay 16ms/1ms. I can't really say the DLM is either broken or something is preventing it from making a positive change until at least 65 days of uptime, as the caution count can go as high as 64 days. By which time I hope and imagine G.INP will be supported on the DSLAM (ECI).

Hello guys, I've been using a Zyxel sbg3300 for about a year now, but I've been having some problems with it and there doesn't seem to be much info out there or either a lack of people using them.

So I took the plunge and bought the AC68U, I did know about this massive thread but decided to take a risk.

So far so good, I will keep you posted on how I fair out with it.

@babis where did you find the new firmware? i dont see it on their site. i hope it fixes my adsl disconnects

Log in to the router and select the 'utility' link at the bottom of the web page. Select Windows 8.1 32bit. For some odd reason it doesn't seem to show you the latest firmware if you select Windows 8.1 64bit.

......
I don't see spectrum tab any longer in this firmware

Will be interesting if that is finally gone, its not like Ixel and other members that disabled it months ago have been telling them that was an issue... <sarcasm off>

Ill believe the issues are solved when i see someone post full TC console stats (like Ixel and only a couple of others do) who is on fast path, has a stable connection for more than a week and above all stats that make sense and do not report weird attenuation/SNR or stupid high FEC/CRC numbers, posting images of the modem screens doesn't tell anyone much.

Until then i think the jury is more than still out. People interleaved or on G.INP posting screen shots of error free connections doesn't tell people much either, except that the connection can hold when interleaving of some form is applied which we also knew months ago anyway.

ViRuS2k has a rock solid connection previously yet the latest beta firmware seems to have destroyed his connection and interleaved or G.INP'd it in some manner.

So many (80%+) of who are now posting stats and think they are fine do not seem to know how to interpret things fully.

Ixels connection has also not recovered fully yet i note. His latest post here suggests it should had http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=27899484&postcount=1881 but clearly not.

The thread is unfortunately becoming a mess to sort through pages of new people reporting their connection is fine when in some form they do not understand it isn't.

Is it just a feature gain of changing router? Or is the vdsl modem in this better too? IE bit bit sync rate? Wondering if I can personally justify the cost to buy one instead of the HH5.

got my first disconnect on the new firmware.. nothing changed for adsl users then sigh.

roughly every 24 hours it will hangup and reconnect.

If its early in the morning it could be DLM. Even on the home hub, every now and then I had a few days with disconnects every 24 hours early in the morning. The sync speed wouldnt change but it must have been tweaking some other parameters.

New Firmware, still awesome and stable :)

had 14 days with approx 2000 CRC down errors on the beta firmware. Day 15 saw that rise to nearly 3500 in a few hours. I put the new firmware on and still relatively rapid rate of CRC. I was due to be away for two days so reverted to HH5 but could not avoid a hit 69Mb to 60Mb while I've been away. Such good progress for two weeks lost so quickly.

Ignore figures - see further below

Did you set ESNP to 'stable' in the DSL settings?

Hi Ixel, yes, ESNP had been set on the beta firmware and the new firmware - figures I gave above complete nonsense - I put it down to a late night - the actual figures were recorded when I could check and record them:
12/04/2015 12:34 - 14399 CRC DOWN (day 14)
13/04/2015 06:30 - 17385 CRC DOWN (day 15)
13/04/2015 20:25 - 25263 CRC DOWN (day 15)

The rate had been steady at around 45 CRC per hour and had added 8,000 or so that day. Below are the recordings I made but not done at regular times - figures above are the last three data points.

So guys, after reading the last 64 pages (many of which are void by the fact newer firmware updates were released), is the DSL-AC68U a worthwhile purchase for a stable fibre VDSL connection from Zen, or should I stick with the BT supplied modem and WAN enabled N55U? Fibre is being installed next week! Ideally wanted a single box solution, and have loved the N55U, but want stability!
