Anyone using Wegovy?

I am telling you because i know, you are making up arguments to counter me, go and do it, and come back in 2 weeks and you will be in shock.

2 x 8oz steaks in 1 day is not enough to keep me full, dairy gives me the **** as I am lactose sensitive. I also have to follow the laws of physics, calories have to go somewhere if I eat enough meat to keep me full and they tend to go on my belly.

What worked is to create a calorie deficit, whilst eating a balanced diet. As I said, I went from over 15st down to 11st once in about 6 months. It has creeped back up as I started to snack but any form of dieting is useless since it’s not what I normally eat. I just eat normal, but less.

2x 8 oz steaks is like 900kcal.

Who say to eat only 2x 8oz steak in a day?

You can skip the dairy, no issues its not required only my personal choice.

100g butter for basting (just use 50g each meal)

You said that you can eat and eat and not get fat because you won't be there eating 3000 calories of meat (and yoghurt), and then later clarified that because of the meat, you will be full a lot faster and you won't be actually eating buckets load of meat.

I simply illustrated that 8oz stead cooked with some butter (instead of yoghurt) is not that much food, and together has enough calories for the day, and I can eat 3000 cal of meat and dairy quite easily...throw in some peppercorn sauce (easily add a couple hundred calories). So how does one actually get into this calorie deficit to be full by eating nothing but meat?

An 8oz steak is not 615kcal

and 100g of butter are you insane or what, a pack of butter is 250g, you are using almost half a pack of butter?

Yes you will feel full much easier on a high fat/protien diet. Its also more expensive to digest, it also is used in the body.

I also mentioned before 1kcal is not 1kcal. All these calculations mean nothing really, the margin for error is too high.. You can only compare for similar foods

No, I am using 1/5th a packet, 50g each to cook each steak to bast. I did write (use 50g each meal)

As for 8oz isn't 615 calories...

If I check MyFitnessPal, it gives a massive range, and funny that the lowest 2 are from both from ASDA. less than 200 calories from a steak..I wish it was.

OK, maybe to give you a different point of view:
This is my garmin history since October 2023:
Activities84
Total Distance884.53 km
Total Activity Time61:02:28 h:m:s
Activity Calories28,198
Total Ascent2,646 m
Average Speed14.5 kph
Average Heart Rate134 bpm
Average Run Cadence83 spm
Average Bike Cadence79 rpm

I have cut out refined carbs, I am intermittent fasting (16:8) and am restricting snacking as much as I can. My resting heart rate has dropped from 80s to high 60s. My BP is dropping.

I have dropped only 2kg since then.

Would love to know what else you think you should try before I resort to the health service that my NI and tax pays for?
That's some serious activity, nice one!

Couple of things....

1. calorie's burnt according to watches/apps is a vague estimate - usually up to 50% over reality.
2. you don't do more/less exercise to gain/lose weight - you eat more/less.

So to answer your question, there is literally only one thing you can do - eat less. no argument.

I am giving a lot of leeway in terms of "not all calories are the same", but I also know that no matter how true that is, there is no way that 3000 calories of steak, cheese and dairy is not going to make me fat. That sentence can only go so far. Which honestly, 3000 cal is easily achieved with meat and dairy as they are high calorie foods.

There is also the part of me that feel we all have to follow the laws of physics, which is energy cannot be created or destroyed, only can be converted. So if those calories are not burn off in terms of exercise or pooped out, it is going to go somewhere, and that is my belly.

If you want to lose weight, eat only, meat, eggs and yogurt-ish stuff

If you can manage that, you can save the money from wegovy and instead buy ribeye steaks.

Make sure you buy meat with good fat content, do not eat lean meat.. Buy crème fraiche as it has the highest fat content, and cook with butter.

The biggest problem you have is the phrase, "balanced diet".
nonsense, you can lose weight eating nothing but mcdonalds

100% aware of that - hence the other comments around 16:8 IF and low carb, with restricted snacking as well. Just the diet side alone wasn't working for me which is why I started the exercise regimen as well - but the weight's just not shifting.

I guarantee if you eat less food, at any time of the day and in any ration carbs/fat/protein you will lose weight.

Weight loss is simple, very difficult for a lot of people but simple none the less...

Use a food tracking app like my fitness pal, set yourself a calorie target, say 2k cals a day, track EVERYTHING, down to the milk in your tea, eat 2k cals, no more/no less.

pick a weigh day, weigh yourself as soon as you get up and after the toilet, do the same a week later., if you have gained or not lost, repeat, but this time at 1800 cals. and so on , until you are losing 1lb a week. job done.

As i said, simple, just difficult, cos its food right and we all love it!

Edit: exercise is optional, but DO NOT increase cals due to the supposed cals burned according to your watch/app. see them as bonus losses

Most people will not feel satiated eating McDonalds, and long term you will not beat the hunger cravings. Hormones like Leptin and Ghrelin will make you feel hungry and you will not beat those cravings. Eating a diet high in protein and fats will make you feel fuller for longer, meaning you'll eat less. So while you're right about calorie intake dictating net weight loss/gain, the reality is just that it will be much harder for someone to over eat on a high protein diet. And yes, in the past I've basically gotten a 6 pack while fitting a 16" pizza and a tub of Ben and Jerrys in my diet every week.

agree 100% - but some people would rather starve and have their cals for lunch in chocolate than eat something they consider to be bland. we just need to keep it simple for some people.
