AOC u3477Pqu 34-Inch 3440 x 1440 Monitor

Curved one also? mmmmmm.......

21:9 is a good one to be curved i think but never seen a curved screen that rotates lol, im guessing that wouldnt work so well :)
i think i would miss that even if it is in fashion

i like this screen nice and simple looking!

Having spoken to one of my AOC contacts yesterday over a nice Weissbier, it seems that things aren't quite finalised. An October release is likely, possibly mid-October, with an expected street price of £549 or so. A curved variant is also in the works but I can't confirm anything more about that publically.

If this is true, I'll be putting in a preorder as soon as overclockers has the option.

I'd want to see some reviews first but definitely interested. Hard to believe it will be priced under £500 given the competition and the fact that most 27" 1440p monitors are priced around £400-500. After months of pondering I've decided I'm either having a 34" 21:9 3440x1440 monitor or a 27" 1440p

There's too much choice with monitors these days! Different sizes, aspect ratios, panel types. Hell, even if I settle on a 21:9 3440x1440 is still need to choose whether I want it flat or with a curve:D

It won't be under £500

There was an early news article stating £500 would be the price but I suspect it's overly optimistic.

Yeah, there was a miscommunication which lead to an MSRP of £499 being thrown about. But I've spoken to AOC several times and have confirmed a £599 MSRP and expected street price of around £550. Could still change of course. :)

I quite like the look of this one, I currently use 3 AOC 24" 1080 IPS monitors and thy're great 100% pixel perfect with no light bleed at all. To top it off they only cost me £300 for the 3. They make some great cost effective monitors.

Any new info on when this will be released? I presume next month.
Is it going to be a matte screen like the LG one?
Also I presume its the exact same panel so any issues the LG one as this one will also have them?

I was looking at getting the AOC 27" 1440p monitor but I think if this came in for under £600 with the same specs at the LG 34" one I'd be willing to find the extra cash for it.

The curved ones sound cool too but they seem to be £200-300 more than the flat version so I think it would be hard to justify what's looking like a 30% increase in price just for a gentle curve unless it brings something else to the table.

Yes it's still on track for an October release. It is exactly the same panel as the LG and includes the same light matte screen surface. Some of the issues with the LG are not inherent to the panel but rather how the whole thing is sandwiched together in the finished product.

Someone on a French forum has this model and posted pictures. Has the same bleed as the LG and 4 dead pixels so if you have the LG and are happy with it I wouldn't bother changing.
Yes it's only one but it's clear it's going to have the same bleed issues.
