AOC u3477Pqu 34-Inch 3440 x 1440 Monitor

AOC has review samples circulating in Europe, which usually indicates it's <1 month off release. ;)

sounds like from that review the price tag of this aoc is going to be similar to the LG 34inch 3440x1440 one

Despite the, rumoured, lower msrp compared to the LG I suspect the interest in this monitor combined with a lack of competition is just going to encourage price gouging to begin with. This is a real shame as I already think the LG 34 is overpriced. I personally feel the LG should have been released at £700 and come down to £650 by now and the AOC start off at £600 and come down to £550. I can't help but feel we'll see retailers try to get £650 for the AOC at launch. I hope I'm wrong though.

I can't believe OcUK have the LG back up to £839 this week. An amazing monitor...it being £600 more than the 29" version is a bit of a joke though. I can't help but think they've done this purely to tempt people with the curved one by making them closer in price. Hopefully the AOC is a more reasonable price. One can but hope.

Yeah guess to be expected with such high cost, hopefully the koreans come up with better prices and options.

If gouging on this does go on, then I hope the koreans come up with a cheap alternative. Certainly they'll get my cash.

I understand r&d costs, but there is no way this monitor should clock in at more than 550 GBP.

AOC is $899AUD = £495

LG is $1249 = £687 (can be had for £760 currently)

quick calculation gives £551 for the AOC based on the actual LG prices.

And that remains AOC's estimation of the street price at launch (~£550). MSRP is £599, so it will certainly be cheaper than the LG initially.

ok £599 rrp direct from AOC, so as mentioned in the thread, £550 will be the price.

LG stand is awful, so the LG is £250 extra for apple compatibility.
