White lights usually are to test during the boot process to ensure there are no errors, perhaps it's the same here?

The lights on the back are power indicators, according to their site the white lights should be off to indicate stable power, flashing it means abnormal power and constantly on means no power connected.

Aye. It's adequate but not good. I can see why the FTW3 and Strix are more expensive. Makes the trio an absolute bargain compared.
