***** AORUS DID NOT INVENT THE GRAPHICS CARD, THEY PERFECTED IT! RTX 2000 SERIES!! *****

Changed a brand new pci express lead white lights are still on thinking about buying a new power supply .

White lights are not on when playing, I have turned all RGB off. Pretty sure those lights are just startup, to confirm good power maybe?

Im going to OC my cpu back to 4.6 see if it holds with the new PSU.

Apparently 'Aorus have totally re-invented their coolers' according to the marketing on pg 1. - And they're now even worse!

What's even more staggering is they're up for pre-order @ £1399.99 which is £110 more than the intial pre-order, after the first batch proved to be crap!

:D

Unfortunately OCUK have told me they dont consider coil whine a fault and mine is BAD but they only offer me a refund at best. They informed me that if i want a new one I must wait for refund and then Pre order at the new price which is £110 more. This must be the first time I am not really happy with OCUK service since 2002.

at this new preorder price, with the Hot card, Loud Fans, Bad Thermals don't think i will order another, told my borther get a EVGA card much better made and better warranty. Gigabyte is not the company it used to be, they use to make amazing motherboards, still using two from 8 years ago.

Just get refund bro .

The only review i seen was of the 2080 version at kitguru and they said it was the loudest rtx card they had tested. Which is baffling considering the heatsink design. 3 proper fans may have made a difference but they decided to go with this overlapping fans gimmick which means the middle fan is just a spindly little pos that probably shifts next to no air. They have something like 5 or 6 heatpipes directly in contact with the gpu, yet it still runs hot and loud.

The heatsink isnt that big you know, it would fit on a 2 slot card. Heatsink's on other 3 slot cards are beefier.

!t's big enough that it has multiple "direct touch" heatpipes and "3" 100 mm fans. In terms of sheer bulk the card practically takes up 3 slots. Just seems to be a card that's all about the "bling" rather than being a card that runs cool and quiet.

Some ppl have sayed they aren’t meant to Be on .. more testing today when I get home from work then decide to send it back for a rma ...

Hi guys. If you call OCUK they should provide the battlefield code for you if you had a card delivered on the last 14 days. Just got mine.

Cheers for the heads up how’s your card still working .

Could be quieter and cooler but it could be worse. It's working as intended I guess. Just a little peeved it cost so much more when the trio seems better.

Haven't received my battlefield code yet I'm not sure if that's normal.

I haven't really had much time to test my non-xtreme card as I went on holiday shortly after I installed it (been benchmarking remotely though :p). My impression is that the card itself clocks very well (even my non-xtreme clocks to 2,140MHz when it's not doing very much, 2,040MHz under 100% load, as well as a +600MHz memory OC), but it is let down by the cooling solution which, subjectively looks good, but performs relatively poorly and hence results in high temps and loud fans.

For this reason I've managed to purchase one of the top of the line Strix 2080 Ti OC O11G models for the same original price as the xtreme variant of this card (£1290) which should be with me tomorrow. The reason for this is that the cooling solution is FAR superior from the reviews I've read, managing a max temp of just 59C with the stock fan profile (my AORUS would never reach that temp even with 100% fan speed and an open case).

We shall see how it goes when I get to better test both cards tomorrow, hopefully I shouldn't be left too much out of pocket, if at all when I inevitably sell on one of them.

Will update here if anyone is interested in a like-for-like comparison between the 2 cards.

And I can help to compare with your comparsion. As I ordered exactly same card from Asus like you. Should be with me soon ;)

There is also Evga rtx 2080 ti FTW3 available soon which I believe will be equall if not slightly better ten Strix

Where are you finding Stric OCs for £1290?!?!?!?!?

Hi guys. If you call OCUK they should provide the battlefield code for you if you had a card delivered on the last 14 days. Just got mine.

I have just sent a WebNote asking for code, did you just ring on the off chance they would supply you one?

Looks like we all should have got the cheaper non Xtreme then ha.
What do you have the core offset set to? Mine is on +120 and hold 2055 under load, sometimes 2070 for a few seconds and every now and then 2040 then straight back up to 2055.

This is with the new tomb raider. It only shows around 80 percent load most of the time though for some reason but is locked to 60fps. Not sure if this a CPU bottleneck or what?

PS - My CPU is back up to 4.6 and the card is OCd no crash, so PSU was to blame. I thought 650w would be plenty, apparently not haha.

Still need to put the PSU is properly and close case back up - GPU is getting to mid high 70s with PC on its side, no cover on. Fans on max lol

Yeah I did, and they said if you purchased any RTX card within the last 14 days you're eligible. It'll take a few hours to come through but it will. Also that sounds like a bottleneck. My 6600k holds mine back a lot, really need my Crosshair 7 back :/

And to be honest 650W would be running very close when the GPU can use up to 366W. Everything else combined would put you very close to 650W. I would say a 700W is the lowest I'd go for if you're using a higher power limit bios on a 2080ti.

When GN took an aorus card apart the height of the heatsink was low, and the overall size of the card had some wasted space due to the size of the shroud, so in other words the shroud size is a bit misleading.

Got it from Kikatek @ £1290, just arrived today, ordered late yesterday, haven't opened it yet as just put my new Liqtech II AIO on my 2950X and testing that first (40 degrees C @ 4 GHz all cores full usage ).

Found 2 sites with a decent price actually, Insight had them for £1,335, but both units that were available yesterday are now gone, and Kikatek just sold the last one they had available too.

Mine is on an OC Scanner curve in Afterburner but I think the average OC is +105 MHz.

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, all max settings @ 4K (giving me 99% constant GPU usage), My core clock is 2,040 MHz, Temp is 70C and this is at 90% fan speed.

Also of note is that this is with the GPU in possibly the worst position possible, mounted vertically right up against the glass of my Evolv X, so it has little room to breathe.

I had a vertical GPU bracket for the normal PCI-E slots just arrive, so I'm going to be testing the Aorus and the Strix once I have that installed, should hopefully bring the temps down and make them more comparable to a normal setup.
