***** AORUS DID NOT INVENT THE GRAPHICS CARD, THEY PERFECTED IT! RTX 2000 SERIES!! *****

I returned mine for several of the reasons above. The cooling was mediocre at best, and it felt like it suffered for the sake of fairy lights, which wouldn’t be seen without a vertical GPU mount. Since vertical mounts don’t help with GPU temps and the fans were too loud, it all combined to make it feel like an ill conceived product.

Good decision !

Well I spoke to soon crashes galore today SWBF2 black screen crash have to a reboot doom crashed this morning running outa idea s now .

Nothing is over clocked on the card just under clocked the ram abit on the card to see if that helps .

Final fantasy demo ran for 10 mins then black screen all wrapped up and ready to go back.so disappointed :(.

This entire thread has put me in awful mood lol. Mostly because i have 2x 980ti evga. And i just got out of hospital [was in a coma after dying during an operation last month for a week], and when i got back 2 monitors and 1 of th e980ti had died no real big deal as i was going to replace them all soon anyway as the screens were 8 years old and i wanted a 2080ti. But i Wanted the auros because of the port setup on it meaning no need for active adapters and more cable mess and potential for problems.

NV and its AIB's need to get these issues sorted. Because with out my PC i have nothing i can do really being so ill.

So i will need 2 active dp to hdmi adpaters for the evga ftw3 ? i really didnt want to go that route and its why i was so happy when i saw the Aorus. But I trust the people here, and with how my health is right now i dont want the stress of RMA back and forth. Which is why i havent pre/ordered yet. I was hoping its just this first batch of chips being binned badly.

They are good cards but they need sorting out as with the hassle I’ve had with mine and I’m sure other ppl using this forum ..

I have finally put my PSU back in properly and closed the case back up. Just tried the Hitman 2 demo, if I have Vsync on (I normally do, cant stand tearing) then the load of the GPU is only around 70 percent and the temp gets up to about 79-81 with fans on 100 percent.

I just tried Vsync off, was getting upto 120fps with 99percent load, but the temp got up to around 86-87 after 10mins and was throttling the boost down under 2000.

Is there anything I can do to try and improve cooling? I have a 200mm intake up front, 1x small intake on the bottom in front of PSU and 2x exhaust fans at the top. Then the CPU is exhausted out the back with the AIO cooler.

My concern is games that will actually load the GPU to 100 will be throttled due to heat

I am thinking, maybe I should stick a AIO cooler on it with one of those brackets.

I also had a couple of crashes today but that may be because I OC the memory a fair bit, reset that back to 0 now.

Thanks,
Sean

This is exactly what bothered me. The only time I was happy with the card's noise/ temp balance was when it wasn't hugely stressed, so I knew it wasn't good news for the future. I considered whether it was possible to avoid an RMA too, but water cooling the card will cost a fortune and a re-paste won't be enough to make it a good card.

I have ordered an MSI Sea Hawk X in its place, (effectively a water cooled MSI Trio Gaming X) and it cost me the same as the Aorus. Since all I'm looking for is the same frame rates with less noise and heat, it should suit me.
