***** AORUS DID NOT INVENT THE GRAPHICS CARD, THEY PERFECTED IT! RTX 2000 SERIES!! *****

Depends, how is the air flow in your case? This graphics card throws out TONS and TONS of heat. Its scary, when i touched the side of my case it was hot. The graphics card also heated up my nvme drives. Check the temp of your hard drives and see if they are ok or getting any temperature warnings.

I would put the graphics card into a manual fan curve where anything over 80c and 100% fan, yes its loud but you dont wan to be running anything over 80C long term not good for your card, even though Nvidia says anything blow 89C is fine.

Get more airflow in your case, its a must with this much heat kicking about.

Fans are already on custom curve with 100 speed at 80c lol.

I have a 200mm intake on the front, 120mm intake on the bottom. 120/140 exhausts at the top and a 140mm exhaust for the cpu AIO out the back.

I still have space for another intake on the bottom and one more exhaust at the top but I dont think they would add much as they are not really over any components.

HWMonitor to check m.2 ? I have 2 ssd and a mech drive but they are all out of the way. m.2 pretty close to the GPU I suppose.

Thanks.

@ seanc5 Have you had any more problems since you put the new psu in?

Well it was crashing after 10mins with the old PSU. Been fine all week really although I have had one or two crashes but they are down to Tomb Raider as it came up with an error.

Tonight I have had 3 crashes though and GPU temp was at 88 with 100 fan speed. I might take the side off see what happens.

Did OCUK find fault with your card?

what are your temps like inside the case? I recently put my AIO at the top rather than the front, exhaust instead of intake and my gpu temps and case temps went through the roof

Temps are all good just the GPU that gets hot. Just crashed again after 10mins with side of the case off. No heating on in the house so room is fairly cold.

Will try a different game, but Tomb Raider has largely been ok all week only one or to crashes. No had 4-5 in quick succession.

Try heaven bench mark and see if that still crashes your computer or some other demanding game. With all the airflow in your case, i would say the card has a problem. If you have your case fans set up correctly then having the case panels on provides with better air flow dynamics than with case side panels off.

But my card can sit at 86C and done heaven bench mark for 30min and no crash. Mine just does some weird power down type thing. I am going to RMA my card unfortunately.

I just went in BIOS and made sure all fans including CPU are at 100 speed. Ran Heaven for 20mins or so.

No Idea what TMPPIN3 is? 5 and 8 google tells me it means nothing is connected.

Anything look out of place? Not sure why the GPU fan is displaying 94 it is set to be 100 from about 78c and it normally does show 100.

Heaven did not crash although I did not run it for long, neither did BF V. It may just be a Tomb Raider thing.

I would install the gigabyte software for your card, Aorus engine and then go in there and set everything to default, including power limit.
Try playing tomb raider again and see what happens, but if it does not crash in other games then It could be tomb raider but best to really test this properly with lots og games just to make sure. Play or test for longer periods while keeping eye on temperature.

Temp wise the pic looks good, but really want to hover around 80c, anything more i would not feel comfortable with long term although nvidia says 89c max.

also try reinstalling tombraider

Honestly I think some games aren't optomised very well. My GPU gets to the mid 80s in Tomb Raider 2013. But around 73c in Battlefield 5 stable at 2010MHz.

Some more superposition benchmarks listed below. Starting to like the card albeit being hotter than I'd like it still performs well, Tomb Raider 2013 might be a bad outlier.

I found my max stable overclock. +140 on the core and +900 on the memory. Superposition crashes at around scene 14/17 with the core at 150 and doesn't load at all with +950 or +1000 on the memory. So close to overtaking @Kaapstad on the 4k superposition benchmark but alas that's all my card can manage on air.

I have reduced the Power Limit to 110 from 122

Much happier with 80c than 85c for only a small loss in Core boost. Just hope it is stable. Gigabyte should not allow a power limit of 122 is the cooler even at 100 fan can not handle it.

I have not even touched memory yet, does it make much of a difference to FPS or is mainly just for Benchmarking? Im playing the new Shadow of the Tomb Raider, will fire it back up and see how temps fair now I have set 110 power limit.

seems like your getting there mate well done !

Messed up your quoting there bud :D

I haven't tested whether memory OC affects game performance, it definitely affects my benchmarks substantially but they're designed to be optomised.

strange my power limit is 100 in the gigabyte engine software, thats why i recommended you install it and set it to default. Your power limit was high for this card which barely has enough cooling.

glad to see better temps.
