Aorus Master / Extreme (3080+3090) Thread

*One* 3080 xtreme sent out in a week? Yeah, no. There is no way OC were sent one single card by a supplier, there is definitely something dishonest afoot here.

You know what? This week I canceled my xtreme from 19th in line, feels so bloody good not stressing over this bull. I agree with you though, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck..... Normally a duck. ;-)

Basically scalping confirmed lol, already has 2 3080s, selling this one for a mark up

I mean, what did you want me to do? My mate was 300+ in another queue, I was position 1. I told him I'd keep it and if it came before his card I'd give him it.

I'm not going to give him a free GPU, so I need to sell it to him, obviously. Could I have sold it for the exact amount to him? Absolutely, but the lads got a cushty job and I think £50 markup is a reasonable price (literally so I can buy cyberpunk). I could've scalped it for 1300+ but nah, £50 is fair.

Either way, I've still got 2 Xtremes (1 3080 and 1 3090) and 1 3090 FE, not including the one that just got dispatched. I managed to snag 3 seperate cards from different competitors, and will be giving them to friends, the 3090 Aorus and the FE are mine for my two rigs. The other 3080 I'll pass on to another friend when he comes back from New Zealand.

i've got updated email with queue position and it was #42 week ago and now is #28 with Aorus 3090 Xtreme

So my 3080 Master I tried everything to get the LCD working. DDU to remove all drivers. Installed old driver... Installed latest Aorus Master. Still no luck.

I then put it in a pc I'm building for a friend and it worked straight away. So I copied the Gigabyte folder from the working pc to my own. Then ran the LCD Updater/Flasher from the Gigabyte folder. IT NOW WORKS!

NEXT ISSUE THOUGH....

The options for fan speed and gpu temp display are pointless or I'm missing something... As the measures don't change.

Crap software but a lovely card.

I'll sell it to a friend, and charge an extra £50. Use that £50 to buy Cyberpunk.

Your friends need better friends it seems. Geeze really.. how low.. also you are stating a lot of purchases and wanting to sell to friends.. sounding like scalping to me .. not cool really and a lot of your comments on here have been not very nice and I'm shocked you are not banned for them.

I mean not to advocate scalping, his freind gets a card wayyy earlier, and in return he pays for cyberpunk. Seems more reasionable than hoying it online for a rando to be squeezed

Some of us have different morals mate. Helping out your friends is one thing but overcharging them is low in my book sorry. I work in I.T and when my friends need stuff doing on their computers even when I'm busy I do it and don't charge them unless it needs a part and they get the original invoice for the part and pay what I paid without the work I did for them.

Friends and family don't get a bill from me for doing them something nice.

He probably could have a better friend, but not one that's willing to give him a 3080 Aorus Xtreme. But you also missed out this part:
I'm not going to give him a free GPU, so I need to sell it to him, obviously. Could I have sold it for the exact amount to him? Absolutely, but the lads got a cushty job and I think £50 markup is a reasonable price (literally so I can buy cyberpunk). I could've scalped it for 1300+ but nah, £50 is fair.

Just a little FYI, he offered me £200 more, I only wanted £50 for cyberpunk. He also could've said, you know what, that's fine, and I would've just sold it onwards for £1300- I know in todays world that extra £400 profit would've been nice, but I'm not greedy. The lad was thinking about buying on ebay to cut his wait times down, so I think he's winning. I don't know how you do things with your friends, but it's almost expected in my friendship group to offer something. So just because YOU don't, doesn't mean anyone else doesn't. I bet if someone offered you a 3080 Xtreme for £50 more, you'd bite their hand off, so don't be a hypocrite.

As for the 'not really nice' comments I should've been banned for, what are you talking about? My comments are just talking about OCUK inability to be a reseller and their questionable stock situations. Maybe a few pops at white knights sticking up for them. I wouldn't say that's a banable reason in my opinion. But then again, you know best apparently :) I'll tell my mate he deserves a better friend and I'll give away all my GPU's for free .

Also if you really want to get vexxed, my 3080 xtreme arrived today too, so looks like i'll be buying cyberpunk later :D

Lastly (tiny edit), there's morals, and then there's stupidity. Lad is making £300k /yr and was going to buy a 3080 on ebay for £1500. I make a decent amount, but not £300k/yr. The extra £50 is just a wise choice to get a game that I really didn't want, for free. If you want to spend £50 on a game, be my guest, but I'll quite happily accept £50 and get it for free. That's just a smart decision in life.

Just wanted to get some feedback from other 3080 Master owners....
I got it a few days ago and personally i was pretty disappointed... it does boost to 2ghz out of the box but on the performance bios its so loud.... It goes to nearly 80% fan speed to hold it in the 60s.
Then in the silence bios it does about 70% fan speed and stays at about 70 degrees.

It does undervolt a bit... and i can get about 1950mz at 900mv but even then it still sucks down about 300ish watts and remains pretty loud.

Close friend of mine who has the exact same case got a gigabyte 3080 Vision which seems to run a lot cooler and quieter at the same speeds which seems weird to me.
I did notice (but don't know if this is normal) that under load after a while the backplate especially on the left side gets so hot you can't keep your finger on it.

Anyone at all got the temp readout working in the LCD on a master?

Mines stuck at 55c won't change at all. Gigabytes software is absolutely broken it took 3 hours to get the LCD/LED control to even show up.
