Aorus Master / Extreme (3080+3090) Thread

Got mine in the last batch, it came next day about 5pm after the shipping e-mail. - The LCD on my Master works ok most of the time, make sure you have both Aorus engine and RGB fusion installed, I needed both before it stopped showing 55c
I'm using a 4k Dell Ultrasharp U2718Q and getting about 35ish fps when playing 4k fortnite with all the RTX stuff maxed out. reducing some of the RTX options puts it up to 60 fps quite easily. I also have a2k screen which I had running briefly but once you are used to 4k I don't think you can go back and would say its worth moving to 4k now if you have been thinking about it. The out of the box time spy was around 16200 (i7 10700KF CPU) and I got it up to 16887 with +150MHZ CPU and +500MHZ MEM and all the fans blowing.
Enjoying it lots, looks great in the PC and glad I went for this one as the LCD definitely adds a satisfying edge, currently got it set to just show FPS and it works well, and the utility where you can add your own picture/Gif or text to the screen is easy peasy to use. I did wonder if 4k gaming with everything on full would stretch it a little bit. Unless others are getting a different experience? I've now backed off the overclock and just running at stock, I dont see it getting hot and its just a faint increase in fan noise when you start gaming. I will probably invest in a bracket just for peace of mind on the minor sag. Have not yet flicked the switch to see what happens when you boot from the quiet bios mode option. that may never get used !

Mines stuck at 55c won't change at all. Gigabytes software is absolutely broken it took 3 hours to get the LCD/LED control to even show up.

did you uninstall rgb fusion and install Aorus engine (which installs its own rgb fusion)? Might also be a bios update for the card?

I think thats what I ended up doing, I noticed Aorus Engine re-installing RGB. mine has worked since then - apart from one time when RGB didn't see the card at all just my mobo. has been ok since.

Yup and was even told by the high street place today that the extremes and masters are coming in single digits to them when available and they are having a lot of returns on them for issues (guessing user error or as some saying the screen issue but that's software that may need an update to fix) and didn't recommend them and they maybe discontinued on their site, I was wanting them to remove me from the notify when in stock because I get like 3 emails a day them recommending me other cards of old gen and stating no stock of what I asked for, being the 3080 and 3090 extremes and masters. Also was regarding AMD 5000 series cpus , was wanting a 5950x or/and a 5800x, but looks like 2nd to 4th week of next year when they may get stock again. :(

How are you guys with the 3080/3090 extremes and masters finding them now you have had them awhile? I'm not after one now and not going to pay the gouged rate on them and have managed to get 2x3090s I'm really happy with now :) but really liked the Extremes and was probably on my number one then the Strix and then the FE but then removed FE totally after seeing that some behave strange after being opened like some tamper detection but Nvidia told Steve at Nexus there is no tamper detection after he and others had the same issue, so no thanks if you can't open a card to clean and repaste in future without a headache and looks a bit of a nightmare to open without breaking something loosing all the tiny bits of plastic that hide the screws.

But for looks the FE 3090 wins in my book apart from the stupid place they stuck the power connector.. :rolleyes:

You wouldn't believe how many times and different ways I've tried. Just to get the LCD to work I had to install the card in another build I have I'm part way through for someone and copy the LCD files over to my pc.

Definitely on latest bios. Latest Aorus Master which installed the latest RGB Fusion.

Could be a conflict with NZXT CAM or icue I suppose.

Sleep mode never helped either I tried that multiple times.
 
Oh and to make it worse... I've changed nothing on my streaming setting in streamlabs but selecting NVENC it's like stop motion.

I've been streaming for months on my 2080s using NVENC new. Zero issues at 720p 60fps.
 
Madness, After last weeks deliveries and seeing light at the end of the tunnel being top 10 in the que for a 3090 Xtreme. I have just by chance managed to get one from a competitor

I would check they didn't cancel your order as they priced it wrong, I purchased it at the £1670ish price and got a message later order canceled as it was priced wrong.

Correct price is £1750 they said and to try again to buy it if I want it.

No thanks I was going to offer it to someone here on the members market that may have wanted it for sale price.


They priced the eagle 3080 wrong too was £675 and again people got canceled and correct price £750..

Congrats! Curious if this purchase was from another queue you had been in, or you managed to just simply find one available now?
 
Just found one available by chance on another site i pop into. Although i have received confirmation and they have took money etc i am not counting my chickens yet as they seem to have mucked up the price too as i got it for £1670 and now its on their site for £1750

oops, just seen your post...... They have not cancelled yet and as money has gone through etc, i'm sure trading standards would come into effect

Hope you get lucky mate, I did with the gamerock other day they also priced it wrong at £1580 ,but went up to £1700. I managed to keep it at that price but others got canceled too. I think because I purchased one from them days before for a higher price too and they let it slip.

Yes but by time you argue this and will probably loose if you read the sites terms and conditions on sales .. I had things happen like this before and not worth the hassle .

If you go on your order page and it says dispatched and waiting for DPD pickup its yours for that price. If not then you may get canceled, I got canceled after they processed the payment but my bank account shows they never tried to take the money.

So if they took it with you, you probably are gold mate so don't worry, they are actually a good company and behave nicely.

You probably wont get the game codes as the original £1670 price had no game codes.

The £1750 price has the game codes now.

I've got an Asus motherboard that uses Armory Crate so does that mean I'll have to turn the RGB off on the Motherboard if I want the RGB to work on the GPU?
 
Huge update, probably going to Peep a lot of you off, but made me chuckle at OCUK expense.

Apparently some dolt who works at OCUK shipped me the card when it actually was suppose to get cancelled. Looks like I've peeved someone off (probably gibbo) with my emails to gigabyte reps or the fact I was able to snag multiple cards elsewhere.

Anyway, when I called that day, they said I wasn't cancelled. They shipped me a card and I've received a 3080 Aorus Xtreme. HOWEVER- I've just checked my statement today, and what's that? A refund for my OCUK payment. Very weird. I didn't put a order cancellation form in, and I'm sitting with a 3080 Xtreme sent by OCUK.

So, I go check my order status on OCUK, and guess what I see:

So not only did OCUK lie to me saying I wasn't cancelled and then cancelled (and fully refunded me), they shipped me a card anyway and an email to say so. Guess being in position 1 really paid off.

:D:D:D:D:D. Thanks for the free GPU OCUK, you guys really are incompetent. Also for anyone wondering, no I'm not sending the card back, and no I won't be giving the refund back. Their mistake, my gain.
