Aorus Master / Extreme (3080+3090) Thread

I seem to have got mine working. When I selected the dispaly option, I unticked a couple that weren't displaying any data. Applied the settings, then the next time i started my machine they were still active.
 
I received my 3080 master on the 18th and I’m pretty disappointed.

First up gigabyte software is by a mile the worst I’ve ever used. It took me 2 days and lots of installing/uninstalling/restarting to get rgb fusion to recognise the card. I don’t even know what I did to get it working it just randomly fixed itself and now seems to be ok. Aorus engine looks like it was designed by a child so I swiftly removed it and went back to using afterburner to set my fan curves.

Everything was fine for a week or so but now for the last few days I have been getting a random fault where I get a black screen (no input detected on my monitor) and the fans set themselves to 100%. Everything else on the pc continues to work so not a BSOD or crash to desktop. After a hard restart everything is back to normal and working again.

I’ve done some troubleshooting to no avail, going to try again today but I think I’m going to have to RMA the card if I don’t fix it (I’m still within my 14 days too). There is a thread on the nvidia forums with others having the same issue, evga cards seem affected too, with so far an RMA being the only suggested fix.

I have an aorus z390 pro board which has been perfect but this experience puts me off buying gigabyte in the future. :(

I have to admit my 3080 master worked like a dream when I had it, no problems with RGB fusion or getting it setup at all and boosted like a dream to 2040mhz, TBH if there was a waterblock available for it I would still have it now, as it was head and shoulders above the zotac I have now
 
49th to 37th for a 3080 Master. I know I'm getting closer but we've had zero updates since the 19th of November with any Gigabyte cards, nothing from @GIGA-Man either. I think Nvidia has blatantly lied to us when they said they were ramping up production in November, I have seen zero evidence of any cards shipping in mass quantities. @Gibbo has never had a delivery of 250+ cards of any one type. This wouldn't be such a problem if someone would just talk to us and let us know what the ****'s going on.
 
7 days after 3080 Xtreme shipped, 6 days since sent back for not having the correct invoices attached and received by OCUK. still not reshipped.... you would have thought with it being their error they would fix it ASAP but no, supposedly not...
 
To be fair it’s only 150 more than what paid and will have it in a week been waiting 2 months here and don’t look like it’s getting any better with no communication

Oh well 3080 extreme position 24 cancelled

new card order will be here Monday abit more pricey but guess what no messing about and will be here Monday

sick of lack of info on a premium card
 
Got my shipment confirmation on Monday (30/11/2020) for Aorus RTX 3090 Xtreme. I was position #01 from Friday.

Hope that helps anyone tracking shipment vs cancellations.
 
Got my 3080 Aorus Master today, things a big chungus of a gpu! Letting it run in before i start tinkering with OCing.

5900X arrives Thursday, so i will strip down the PC, install the 5900x and the new Arctic Freezer 2 420mm AIO and my new white cables.

Bunged it in for now just to see how it runs, fired up Watchdogs Legions and tested DLSS and Raytracing, to be honest i dont see the fuss with the Raytracing, DLSS though seems a decent boost.

Fired up Division 2 and i can now run it on max settings at 3440x1440p and hit my 100mhz cap on my screen.

Downloading Black Ops to try it out next.

I'm glad it's working well for you. I keep hearing some negative reviews of the card but I'm so close to the top of the queue that I really don't want to cancel my order :D
 
1.) Please, can someone compare RTX 3080 Aorus MASTER vs EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA noise during gaming, both cards set in Quiet mode with?
Probably the temps should be similar...
I want quieter card, but cannot find any comparision.
2.) MASTER and EXTREME RTX 3080 using the same cooler and fans or different?

I appreciate any advice.

Hi guys,

So I received my Aorus 3080 Xtreme but I’m feeling a little underwhelmed by it’s performance.

I’ve gone from an i7-8086k and 2080 Ti to an i9-10900k and a 3080.

On Time Spy my CPU score went from 8622 to 13731 which is a huge jump but my Graphics score went 16217 to 17563. Total score went from 14324 to 16857. Honestly the CPU score was a lot higher than I expected but the GPU score is a lot lower than expected.

Similar results on Time Spy Extreme CPU score went from 4101 to 6608 but the GPU score went from 7564 to 8964.

CPU score went up 37% on both but the GPU score went up 7% and 15%.

My 2080 Ti was overclocked but I can’t overclock my 3080 at all, it crashes every time I run the OC Scanner on MSI afterburner.

I’ve tested a few games and some seem to run okay but I honestly feel like I’m barely getting a performance bump from my previous build. AC Odyssey still dips into the 50s with everything maxed at 4K and watch dogs legion is a bit of a mess. I’m also getting horrendous frametime spikes and frame drops on rocket league. Whenever I open the menu I get a stutter and tabbing in the menu stutters every time and gameplay is just as bad. Stuff like boosting, demolitions or goal explosions cause huge frame drops to the point where it’s unplayable. Ori and the will of the wisps couldn’t hold 4K/120 either, even dropping into the 70s/80s which shocked me.

I feel like I may be being paranoid or expecting too much?! But something just doesn’t feel right with this card.

I don't have my 3080 Xtreme yet so I can't say for certain but what you describe does not sound right. Have you checked that you have the latest drivers and uninstalled any previous drivers? Also check the bios version of the card, there has been new bios versions provided by Gigabyte which raise the MAX TGP to 450W which might enable you to overclock it without crashing.
 
Don't use OC scanner, do it manually, you'll get better results. Did you try a reinstall of the drivers? And does your card have a dual bios?
