*** Apple event 10th November @ 6pm - One More Thing: Apple Silicon Macs Reveal ***

I genuinely don't know what I will go for now... the Air or the Pro. The fan-less benefits might win out... do I need the extra performance? I do mainly office type tasks. Let's see.

The difference is likely in sustained performance, rather than burst performance.

MBP getting 17 hour battery life web browsing, 20 hours video playback. Nice!

EDIT: From $1299. Up to 16GB RAM and 2TB SSD. Shame about the RAM.

Gahh yes, its still a tough one. I think the Air is still going to be a fantastic machine... I think I will prefer the fanless benefit BUT the question is whether the software/hardware on the MBP will be smart enough to never even switch on unless editing 4K video or something very intensive.

I suspect the 16 inch will get a boosted version of the M1, maybe an M1x or something like that. Same goes for iMac

Pre order today, available next week. Big Sur out Thursday.

So looks like Air for me (probably). I'm just web browsing, Spotify etc, with occasional MainStage usage (which doesn't hammer the CPU anyway) - presume I'd get away with this on the Air?

I'm going to go for the Mini - I'm still a Desktop kind of guy, with big monitors - and just use the iPad for mobile.

Perfect, gets all the beta testing out the way for the 16" and gives me time to save up :)

Be interesting to see the thermal performance on the Pro and how hard the fans get pushed, can't stand how much the fans on my MBP spin up.
