As I thought, nothing that interesting for me on iPad, 4g is pointless, retina display is nice, but doesn't warrant an upgrade.

I might grab one then! I still can't think of a single use case for a tablet but I fancy a new toy, I'm sure I can sell it on without much loss pretty quickly anyway.

Well the Vita doesn't have to push as many pixels (220ppi on 5inch screen) so should be able to do more stuff.
