You've heard all the rumors, and now Apple has finally confirmed the details of its next iPad launch event. It will take place on Wednesday March 7th at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco. The company is keeping things suitably vague beyond that, of course, promising only that it has "something you really have to see. And touch." You can be sure we'll be there live to find out exactly what that might be.

What is Rumoured?
  • New iPad Model - It is very likely that we shall see a new iPad model featuring the latest A5X Processor, as well as a much improved screen capable of a resolution of 2048x1536.
  • New Apple TV Model - Rumour has it that a new model of the Apple TV (ATV) will make an appearance, boasting a new dual-core A5X processor to allow for streaming of 1080p content

Where can I watch this Apple Event?
Unless you are a member of the press, sadly it's still out of bounds. It would appear that Apple isn't covering the keynote live, and others are prohibited to do so!

HOWEVER - not all is lost, mac-related websites/blogs around the world are here to give you the latest breaking news via RSS-News Feeds and other "Live Update" blogs.

I will keep an up-to-date list of the sites which will give you "Live Updates" of the event below...

As always, Apple are kind enough to upload the keynote shortly after it's finished. You are often able to stream it from Apple Events or alternatively, you can wait 24 hours after the keynote to download it in high quality straight from your iTunes!

You can now watch the Keynote here!

The keynote starts at 10:00 AM (PT), also known to us brits as 18:00 PM (GMT), on the 7th March 2012! Be there!

Other times are:
07:00AM - Hawaii
10:00AM - Pacific
11:00AM - Mountain
12:00PM - Central
01:00PM - Eastern
06:00PM - London
07:00PM - Paris
02:00AM - Tokyo (March 8th)

Yeah yeah yeah the OP is work in progress :p Regardless, it begins 7th March as rumoured! 8 days boy and girls. Time to get excited all over again :D

This is the first iPad to get me excited. If it's good it will be my dad's bday prezzie!

Me too! I'm quite tempted at this one... Wish they'd hurry up and get the new iMacs out because then I'll transition from Macbook Pro to iMac + iPad combo :D

Hope they have a video stream going, I will be looking at written updates but not the same as seeing the keynote. And watching the keynote after is also a bit weird because you know 'the main things'

Come on iPad, I want one back in my hands :p Quite sad how much I've missed using it over the last 2 weeks.

Yeah with all the iCloud power you'd think they'd be willing to stream it by now... :p Who knows - one day we may be able to watch these media events on an Apple TV :p

Did you get rid of your iPad 2 for this?

They have streamed it before though.. I'm sure they have?

iPad 1 =) It did the job fine, though I felt like price wise it would be good to sell it now and with this new screen I bet it will be so much nicer... as well as better specs for that performance increase. Not the cheapest upgrade though.. Sold mine for £200, will be going for the cheapest WiFi only model as I did last time, then the hunt for a case.. Probably a few weeks before they get released/produced etc =( I dare take it anywhere before that!

Yep they streamed it once - I think it was to test the capability of the iCloud. I'm quite surprised they aren't using it to stream. But it could still be announced I guess :p

Ahh nice I bet the iPad 3 is going to be a massive upgrade for you. Assuming it has what the rumours are saying it has, it looks like it's going to be a sweet piece of kit :)

Yup =) Should be lighter and thinner as well, I know the difference between the 1 & 2 in weight and thickness was a fair bit, though rumours are saying this one will be slightly thicker... Not really bothered as it will still be thinner then my old one. Can't wait. Also interested if they change anything with the Apple TV as I was considering buying one, I have a WDTV Live but never use it; probably because its not on the network. If I could stream something though from my phone to TV, or even from PC to phone using Air Video and then to Apple TV it would be nice. /Research required

I quite like the idea of ATV but I look forward to an actual Apple TV :) Having all the features of ATV in an actual TV sounds very good indeed :)

Last week, we noted that shortages of the Apple TV at third-party retailers had begun spreading to Apple itself, with a number of the company's own retail stores reporting that the set-top box was unavailable for immediate in-store pickup. With a part number for a product with the code name of "J33" and known to be the next-generation Apple TV also surfacing last week, it certainly appears that an update is imminent...

Certainly looks like we'll be seeing more than just the next generation iPad tomorrow! Any guesses as to what they'll be including in a possible next gen Apple TV (ATV)?

is it going to stream live ?

Phil Schiller has said that it won't be streamed - but it will be available straight after the conference is over... I'll be keeping the OP updated though with the best live blogs. :)

Eurgh, i seriously can't wait.

I don't care for anything else except for the release of 5.01 iOS, if that doesn't happen to fix the battery life, this is getting sold (iphone 4s) straight away!

I wouldn't think that the new update will come with any magical battery time cure... I've had no problems with battery life though - Are you jailbroken? Some apps can affect battery performance.

The battery problem is actually very mysterious, it isn't clear what is causing it.

The 4S battery life should be very similar to the iPhone 4 though, if it isn't, something is wrong.

Hmm yeah - I do remember having a problem with my battery life on the iPhone 4S, but they fixed it (It was the location bug where it would find your location all the time :p)

I read the iPad 3 will be in shops by March 18th

Rumours are suggesting 16th March (Friday) - which sounds about right. There are also rumours that an immediate release will happen (tomorrow), but I would say that it would be unlikely.

My apple-sense tells me pre-orders to start tomorrow or just after the conference tonight, for a full release next Friday (16th March).

Hopefully we'll be able to preorder, unlike the ipad2.

Hopefully! As mentioned, I would imagine it would happen tomorrow morning :)

Surely it will only be in the shops in the US by then, few weeks later for us?

Nope, they're usually pretty good with international sales. It should be in shops by March 16th.

so we could see ios 5.1 tonight??? :D

It's possible. But it's more likely that it'll be released mid-week next week, and come with the iPad 3.

Been waiting for months for this, holding off the iPad2, this and probably an aTV3 if its the same price as the aTV2.

If preorders go live tonight whats the likely ETA based on previous releases - day of release or a few days after?

In my experience, they've been on top of their game with deliveries. For iPhones (and my Macbook Pro) I've bought in the past, I've had them arrive on the day of release :)

Nice, though we really need to call it 16th March then :)

Tomato Tomato :p

My original iPad was delivered the day before release. I hope it is released next Friday, and I can get one, as the following week i am going onto a 5 day working week, boo I've loved working 4 days for the last 4 years, and will no longer have every Friday off. Shame as it's great for deliveries.

Nice! :)

Oh, it's a 'badboy' now is it? ;) :p

Lets not kid ourselves... it's a badboy :p

If its any Friday I have no college on Fridays so that be good I I can't preorder.

Looking forward to the keynote, hope there's a live stream. If not oh well.

QuickPwn.com have announced they are streaming the conference live here.

Usually they are bad quality streams though, so I normally boycott them and just read the live blogs...

I have updated the live blog links, as well as add two more to choose from in the OP.

Is there going to be live streaming?
Not a stream from Apple unfortunately...

However, QuickPwn.com have announced they are streaming the conference live here. These streams are usually pretty poor though, so I would have the live blogs on just incase.

so long as I can hear what they're saying I'm happy

Yeah shouldn't be too bad for audio - but in the past you lose the feed every so often.

Rubbish, what happened to live streams it seemed to be in for a few conferences.

I believe they've streamed it once (maybe twice) before to test the iCloud servers, but they've stop doing it ever since :( It's definitely a shame though :(

10 tabs open!

Here we go! :D

Hahaha same :p 4 minutes left!

It's times like these I wish the forum was auto-refreshing :p

What Live blog is everyone using? I'm with GDGT.com at the moment - they're usually pretty reliable...

Engadget.com is looking pretty sweet though :)

Tim wearing black now - keeping with the trend of Jobs I imagine... I thought he normally wore a more business attire...
