Just going to be call iPad. Just like Macbook Pros don't have numbers to define their revisions. It'll probably be referred to as iPad (Early 2012), like other Mac devices.

Its just called "iPad", following their mac naming process i guess. New releases of mac's are still just "Macbook Pro" or whatever, not "Macbook pro 18"
