Apple vs Samsung, court orders Samsung to show Apple 5 new phones

google is backing them and they are the ones putting pressure on their partners to make these patent cases.

Thats not true though is it?
Firstly its a combo of the tech used in the Wii and Kinect. It will work by projecting a grid from a sensor bar (invisible to the eye) and then work out positioning based on your finger position relative to the points on the grid.

And secondly, the patent clearly states that its for the tech being integrated into the set itself.

I realise there's a tone of apple hate around here, but at least get it right (and it hurts me to say this to a fellow red =/ )

Things about to heat up. Samsung trying to stop the iPhone 5 (and then iPhone 4 after) from being sold because of Samsung's mobile signal patents (Thats mobile signal for calling, not internet) which to quote Samsung:
"For as long as Apple does not drop mobile telecommunications functions, it would be impossible for it to sell its i-branded products without using our patents. We will stick to a strong stance against Apple during the lingering legal fights."

Problem Samsung have is
1. Apple already pay Samsung for use of this patent, Samsung could try to stop Apple using it but ..
2. Its a standards essential patent, they can't refuse access to it neither can they charge one company more or less then another.

So in essence - completely pointless. Still, nice try eh.

The same will happen should Apple try and use their multi touch patent which covers far too many devices to ever be considered fair and legal.

Patents are stupid.

As mentioned it's worth noting the case is in the Korean legal system, so not completely applicable and if they're bringing the case then argument 1 likely to be valid, 2 might be but that depends on the legal system.

Lets face it Samsung lawyers aren't going to be completely incompetent, I can see Samsung 'winning' this one, at least getting a payout, and whilst I doubt that would affect Apple hugely it'd make a good headline.

It'll be interesting to see who 'wins' overall, eg who gets the larger pay-off when they finally settle it :p
 
There is no way either company will be able to entirely stop sales of anything worldwide. I'd be very surprised if it happened. So far, only Germany has problems and nobody cares about them anyway :p

There isn't a problem though. Any retailer in Germany can import and sell the Samsung Tab and Galaxy devices as long as their name isn't Samsung Germany. :D
 
I just watched the iOS5 vid and it looks to have some of the features from android now :O, like not having to sync to your pc when you but it, not having to use your computer to back up, the whole notification system(although I like how you can use it in any app).
